Mary, I think many of us will recommend you to check Solaris on the 1st of January (10 am their time), you never know how fast peonies go especially if you are interested in a particular one. Good luck.

I did get a gift certificate to Adelman's already. I can't wait until they post their 2017 catalogue. I also got Martin Page's hardcover book "The Gardeners's Peony".

Plus here's the forecast for tomorrow, and I think that is a good gift.

I did dig up and move my 'Lemon Dream' Itoh Wednesday afternoon. It was 54°F and sunny. I had planted it in 2012, and it really hadn't grown as much as I would have liked. Now it is in full sun. I did not divide it. We have received over an inch of rain since last night and that will help it.

Thanks to you guys, I just received Magical Mystery Tour and Julia Rose in the mail today. It is sunny and 70 degrees so I went ahead and planted the roots. Here is a picture of what I got from Behmerwald Nursery

Nice size roots, MMT is a little larger with the one long root and 4 to 5 eyes; JR had 2 eyes. We will see how long it takes to get blooms. Behmerwald was great to deal with in all respects.

Wow! That is great, Gray! Did you mound dirt up over the crown in case they try to break dormancy? That's what I did with my Caroline Constabel.
I will use the hose to gently wash it away when temps warm up

Gray, you have some nice looking plants there. I'm glad to hear that they were accommodating.
I too am looking forward to Behmerwald's spring selections, it is a five hour drive but is worth a day trip. Thumbs up

Mary, there is a sticky thread here on the Peony Forum. A lot of useful information how to grow peonies from seeds.

Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Those are so gorgeous, Craig! I cannot wait to see what mine will produce next spring. I hope I will get a bloom or two from CC and hope that they look like yours. The colors are so interesting. What would you say is the most prevalent color?

Karen, these photos were from two plants purchased at the same time and each had between 5-8 blooms. I would say that the pink shades are the most prevalent colors, and the darker flares are a wonderful compliment.

Here are the pix I took of my Caroline Constabel this Spring. It is the same plant that came to me with two eyes in December 2016. So it bloomed one year quicker than I thought it would. When the bloom finally opened we had way too much rain and it never opened fully like Craig's did.

Very nice LG! I too was surprised to see any blooms just two years later. I would also like to see blooms on the other Behmerwald Itohs. Oochigeas appears to have the lead with possible blooms in the spring. nodding

What a treat, LG! So gorgeous! Yours actually looks more lavender than Craig's. Is that support that I see? Are the stems floppy?

We maybe able to compare pics of Oochigas, Craig! Mine are showing good growths too. I also hope my Duchess de Lorraine bloom. It looks like it maybe another possible candidate for first ever blooms.
