Robin, that's real pretty but not sure my hand is steady enough to draw those pretty swirls.

Just make any kinds of swirls, it doesn't have to be any kind of set pattern. To me it would be like snowflakes, each one is different. I think 'Santa' would want it that way.

Sally, I did this on a tray when I was crafting, maybe something like this would work on your sled.

I was thinking you could use stencils of holly leaves - your hand doesn't have to be too steady for stencils.

Tabby, I am going to use stencils / stickers and lots of glitter!! That takes care of any unsteadiness from my hand!

The stickers gave me another idea. Decoupage. You don't need a steady hand for that and the results can be very cool. Instead of stickers you can use anything paper.

I thought about that. I enjoy decoupaging and do a lot of it. I just wasn't "feeling" it with this project.

Here is my sleigh. I used a sticker on the side that says "Happy Holidays" and put red glitter around the top edge and trimmed the whole thing with gold braid thread. I just need to add "grass" and I'm going to fill it with Christmas candy, like the foil wrapped Santa's etc.



I also completed this "Egg-head" snowman this weekend. I sewed his hat and jacket by hand! Yikes! Came out great though.

It sure did come out GREAT!

Thanks everyone. I didn't want the sleigh to turn out too "trashy" and, although I think it may still need something else, I'm leaving it as is and hoping that the foil wrapped candies will put the needed "oomph" into it. Working now on some glitter shell ornaments.

Very nice projects, everyone! Right now I am decoupaging a map of Napa Valley onto canvas, so that I can then place markers at all of the wineries that we have visited, and add more as we visit new ones. Also, not a craft project, but I bought spice shelves to clean up my annoying spice jar cabinet, and a couple of stackable racks to clean up my closet shoe issues... so I organized both of those today! I keep opening my spices cabinet just to look at it, LOL!

Brenda! Funny! But I do understand. I love the little wire racks I find at target or Walmart.
