Happy New Year to all!

My semps are enjoying the weather here..but it will be quite rainy this week..will see how it goes. So far there was good intervals of rains in December, so my semps are just relishing it.

Now that the distraction of the holidays is over I am concentrating on plants.
I will look at a few new semps for my empty planters.

Lynn... as I recall the nice thing about going off to work in cold weather is having a warm office to sit in all day. And air conditioning in the summer!

Kevin... I'm with you, man... Winter is for the birds. I think we're both weather wimps when we think 20F above zero is brutal. Hilarious! I even dread just going out to feed and water the chickens every morning. Good thing I brought the firewood in yesterday.

Chris... right about now you can shame us with stories of 20F below zero. Would it help if I told you the wind was blowing a whole 15 MPH? *Blush*

Tim,

Yes Oregon is a place for "winter wimps". Everything shuts down with just a dusting of snow.

The only good news is that this all forces me to be good and FINISH THE BOOK. I just read the whole book out loud to catch mistakes. Am inserting photos in today. The 200 limit is tough.

Kevin, any idea of the total number of pages in the book-to-be, (give or take 10 -20 pages)? Just wondering how FAT and BIG (translate to "HEFTY") this baby will be considering it's from a hybridizer that values "BIG" in his life's work ... Whistling

Good day to read in front of the fireplace... Smiling

Bev,

As it looks right now it' going to be a little over 200 pages. It looks very hefty right now in its manuscript form. I'm deciding on cover photos now. Too many good choices there.

Am hoping you will all enjoy it. There's some very fun things in it that I hope will make you laugh as well as lots of information.

Dirt, it's good to see you posting. And I love the semp substitutes, they are beautiful in the snow.

Ricos, thank you for the reminder on the days getting longer now. That is a very cheerful thought. Won't be long now. Big Grin

Way to go Jo Ann. Which ones did you choose for your order? I haven't even looked at anything yet.

Kevin, I know you probably already answered this question, but when does the book come out?

Lynn,

It will be ~6 months from submission before I get a copy. The books are published in China and I get the one copy by air mail. The rest will arrive about 2-3 months after that.

It will feel good to have it in my hands. The cover will come first as they will use that to publicize the book. Am deciding on a dozen figures for the cover now.
