Reid- I'm going to add yours to my list as a back-up to my beloved Beedy's. We have a terrible time getting seed, so we just buy seed every year. Problem is that it is out of stock often! Blinking Sad Crying

@trish I get mine from Adaptive Seeds in Oregon. That company also has another variety that is fun. Is called Kale Coalition. They let 17 rare varieties cross and this mix is the result of that crossing. Goulag stars is one I haven't tried, but looks fun.

Well I had considered uncovering my roses in the south garden.
I was surprised the heater came on one night, I turn it down to 56-58 degrees and found out it had gotten down to 26 degrees that night.
The rain we had a week or so ago pounded down the leaves on the roses and I found out that I had not put enough heavy dirt on the large canes as several were poking up through the leaves.
When I took the leaves off of a garden that A: does not really need them and B: is on the shaded side of the house up north, I found the ground still frozen.

Noon hour and 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
We had standing snow last week but I think Winter has finally called it quits now.

Will be going out to plant potatoes and uncover the roses up in the North garden.
It will be even warmer fifty miles South of here where the other garden is but with the clay type soil down there as much as I wish I was working it, it was just too wet and I am going be moving roses around so I did not want to uncover them and stand them up and then later dig them out and move them.
I will have to mow the lawn for the second time soon also but down South I will have to decide whether I want to spend a whole day digging out Dandelions or just spray the lawn and kill them.
As I have Creeping Charlie due to not taking care of the lawn as much as usual last year, I will be spraying anyway but digging Dandelions, you know those are gone.

75 here today!

All I do to my lawn (if you can call it that) is mow it. I have some grass, dandelions, clover, creeping Charlie, and like three other weeds I haven't identified. It works. I mow around the red clover.

My peas are three inches high or so. Beets and carrots have second set of leaves. Arugula almost ready to pick. Radishes as big as small marbles. Apple trees have flower buds.

Wild flower seeds I scattered just coming up. I really hope they get well established. It will be tough out competing the goldenrod and Bugelweed.
