But I agree it's very understandable. I can look at the list and not necessarily recognize seeds I have. I've found a few wishes and definitely would love to add seeds to anyone who might be wishing for something I have. But it would be very easy to overlook so I hope no one will take it personal if I do.

Hilarious! You're not the first person to inquire about them. I only had the one packet and it was from 2016. I thought about making a couple of smaller packets out of the one before I listed it, but since they are older seed and don't germinate as well as fresh seed I left it as is.

I guess I totally neglected to harvest any at all this year. I think I always forget because it blooms in late April to early May and then sets seed gradually before it goes dormant for summer. I am not in "seed harvesting mode" then, and am mostly trying to plant stuff out.

It's kind of like borage too where the stem is still green and inside a droopy green opening there will be one black ripe seed surrounded by several still green ones. The ripe one drops before more ripen, so you can't just wait until they are all ripe and shake it out. I might try bagging a bunch of the heads together next year to catch seed as it falls. The stems are quite delicate though too and any rough handling or high winds tends to damage them before the seed can develop.

The good news is that once you have one good plant it does self-seed a bit and they germinate really well that way on bare ground when they're fresh seed. One year when I wintersowed some dried seeds I wasn't patient enough and dumped the container in the compost bin. Luckily, I recognized the seedlings when they popped up growing in my raspberry patch where I had later spread the compost. I haven't tried to transplant them since that might be tricky. It's a good source for seed even if it does look a little weird!

Morgan, thank you for the explanation and the photos about Virginia Bluebells, it makes me love them even more. Smiling That cat is adorable!

While looking for a certain seed to fill a wish, I ran across a box of seeds from 2015! Looks like I might have to add a few packs of stuff! I'll report here if/when I do.

Note on how I use the "Wishlists".
I put a few things in that I am looking for, mainly so someone might collect seeds from something they did not know anyone wanted ( THANKS tfeeha01 for the witchhazel seeds!!!). Or possibly if like myself someone orders oddities, and they are on the fence about something maybe they would order it knowing there was interest. I look at the lists for the same reason, sometimes I collect seeds knowing someone really wants them this year.
I don't normally 'hold back' anything on purpose for gifts, assuming if someone really wanted it they would bid early.
Now, a year or two ago and in some swap there was someone from Europe, who did not want to get up in the middle of the night to bid, someone else bid on something she wanted in order to gift it to her, I could see myself doing that. But if people did that a lot it would make way too much work for the host, who would have to do the switching.
