Wind, I'm working on the Lippia... teeny tiny sprouts at present... and I just killed a major infestation of sugar ants that found their way into the seedling tray! ugh! I like its fresh taste better than fresh stevia, but I haven't tried drying the Lippia. It's a fun one to get people to nibble.

great! I'm hoping to add more swap plants to our list too. Our seedlings are just now germinating, so I'll have to wait and see what we may be able to share. We really had luck last year with a very prolific French Currant Tomato. A gardener in South Jersey brought the seeds home from France. Kids really love these. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I do have it.

ooh, that would be fun to try! I love to let those currant types just ramble around the perennial bed (unstaked). I had volunteers for several years but haven't started seeds in a while -- definitely need some this year. I've grown 'Wild Cherry' in the past.

I have huge Hellebores if I know how to cut it to share, I will share. Do I have to dig the whole plant out first and then divide or can I just cut it while they are still in the ground? I have white, and purple. Greenish. And maroon.

I received my Fall catalog the other day from Brent and Beckys Bulbs. For orders placed and paid for by July 1st, they offer a 10% discount.

I can bring my catalog to the swap for people to browse. You can also go to their site at https://www.BrentAndBeckysBulbs.com/ and browse/order your own catalog.

My thought was to get one large order together at the SPRING swap, submit and pay for it with the 10% discount.

Here's the kicker... They only start shipping on 05-Sep, and the FALL swap is on 09-Sep. They could ship what was available, and we could divvy it up at the FALL swap. Any yet-to-ship items would have to be picked up from me when available, or other arrangements made.

Thoughts?

My thought is... yes, please. Especially if we can take advantage of some quantity discounts. I have a few things on my wish list from them already (OK, I have a few things actually in my cart LOL).

I wonder if I could "accidentally" let it climb the stockade fence my old neighbor put up just before he moved... will think on that...

Maybe you could put some pulled clumps into a bag the way I've done with mint... some swaps it all disappears, other times I toss half of it. Bet ivy would keep for weeks in a bag...

I just added to my list of plants for the swap, some hens and chicks babies which I will try to ID, and a small Caryopteris 'Worchester Gold'.

I'll dig some peanut butter shrub toddlers while they're still dormant... it took 5 years for mine to mature, but the fragrance of the long-lasting blooms is so amazing! Hummingbird magnet, too. It does pop up root suckers... Smiling

Rick, I'd like to go in on a group bulb buy. However, check out prices at Van Engelen. I compared a random sample of their bulbs vs Brent and Becky's and I find B&B kinda pricey. For instance, 50 viridiflora tulips Flaming Spring Green is $39.75 at VE, it's $52.50 at B&B. VE has 100 Galanthus woronowii for $25, B&B's price is $44.
Even with a 10% discount, B&B's prices are higher than VE.

Yup, I tend to use B&B for things i can't find elsewhere -- or for end of season clearance deals.

Don't forget to check ADR, too... anything we can find there will be cheaper than either B&B or van Engelen (which is a semi-wholesale site -- they are actually a "buy cheaper in bulk" site rather than a true wholesaler).

I'll take a look at Ednie's lists for this fall, too. We've ordered from ADR for several years... it might be that we have some additional choices at Ednie's (now part of Gloekner according to a recent email).

I'm behind the times, didn't realize we had a date for the fall swap. Cool. Who is hosting? I know it's set but can't remember where!

Peanut butter shrub= hidden gem! Needs a bit of room, fast grower, amazing flowers, scent and berries. I'm still surprised it is lesser known, unless it has some bad habit I haven't seen in an under 10 yr old one. (besides some suckering/babies)
I am queen of dogwood seedlings and babies. Anybody starting a dogwood farm?
Plant it and they will come.

Dogwood? Got pink? I'm interested.
WashPost had smart article by Adrian Higgins on dogwoods. Bet you knew about that. Must admit, librarians were original search engines.

sorry, Lisa, Sighing! I don't have a pink dogwood, only several white, so the babies have virtually no chance of being pink. I don't think I've read that article. I did read once about a relationship between dogwoods, soil calcium , snails (and perhaps the birds that would eat the snails?)
Plant it and they will come.

Eating snails is the main avenue for birds to gain sufficient calcium to produce shells for their eggs. Wouldn't think there were enough snails around to enable all those bird eggs, but where are all those thousands of caterpillars it takes to raise a single clutch of chicks once they hatch. Amazing how much passes unobserved right in front of us.

Sally I will take all the Redbud seedlings you want to bring. Jamie has a couple of acres of woodland. It needs some replanting and cleaning out. He is going to try and start PawPaws, I am going to try and seed it with all the Red Bud seeds I can collect from my trees. I am also looking for Tulip poplar seedlings you any of you find them in old pots.
