Thank You!

Jill, and anyone else that has any peanut butter bush, I'll take any extra you want to get rid.
Folks are telling me Spicebush grows wild all around here. So, I think there may be spicebush
growing wild in the woods behind me. Just need to go find it and dig some...

Sally, that's sweet of you to still remember...

Donna - Spicebush is currently in bloom locally, which greatly enables finding it. Look for shrub with little puffy yellow flowers. https://www.google.com/search?...

Thx for the reminder, Sally! I have some I "meant to" sort through before the seed swap and just didn't get them into the car... Clay pots. yep. I know I've got some that were passed along to me and are too small for amaryllises (my main use for terra cotta pots).

Holly, may I have a couple of the bronze fennel. Steve doesn't know it but I'm working on turning the backyard into a bird, butterfly, caterpillar, and hummingbird haven.

Shy, Joyanna and I dug up a bunch of PB shrub babies & toddlers, and I stuffed 2 big pots full for you -- tip them out and pot them up individually when you get them. I have 2 other pots available with 3-5 stems each that will make nice full shrubs (no need to separate).

There are a couple of larger ones that anybody willing to come dig them can have... I'm at the limit of what I can do, so if nobody claims them I'll have to cut them down.

No worries, the babies and "toddlers" came easily out of the moist soil. I'd rather dig them and share them than just cut them off. I crammed a bunch together figuring they'd "hold" well enough that way for a month and wouldn't take up as much car space as if I tried to pot them individually (there are 5 or more clumps in a pot, at least a dozen shoots that could be separated and grown on).

If Martina or Theresa can get the bigger ones out for their yards, then I'll have 2 additional pots to share at the spring or fall swap (we did 6 pots -- 2 for Donna, 2 for Martina & Theresa, and 2 extras).

Crossing fingers that these all leaf out and grow!

Smiling

Ok my property is 2.3 acres .. a big heard of deer visit twice a day .. shade gardens in front .. sunny stuff in back .. there is a secret garden-ish entrance in back that leads to a football field .. someone shade in the middle.. anything deer resistant.. hummer and butterfly friendly would be fabby.. not sure who gave me beauty berry years ago.. but I was unable to move it here and loved it.. we removed some of the big trees towards the house and would love some smaller ones to replace them .. dogwoods .. flowering trees .. we eventually want to put up critter protection in back to do a veggie garden.. not sure if we can afford to do it this year .. once we get the house better we can have a swap here for sure .. room for a circus tent in back nodding

If you look right behind the house.. the trees to the left are now gone .. along the garden beds .. so some coverage from the neighbors property would be good

wow, Onewish, that is fantastic! Congratulations on the new property.
I also have Juniperus virginiana seedlings sometimes, and American holly. Also babies, no feelings hurt if you don't want to wait for them to grow.
Plant it and they will come.

Jill, I would like 1 PB, will it grow in part shade? My back yard is now so fragrant, I can smell them from my car in the driveway in front. One of my Viburnums is in the front yard. Lots of early blossoms are completely dead and black. I suppose I can all prune them, so the bush is not going to grow to tall. It is facing West. The other 4 that I have are all in the back. Unfortunately the labels are gone, but I have I think Mohawk, Carlesii Compactum Viburnum, maybe Juddii, and maybe Cayuga Korean Spice Viburnum. I think I ordered it by phone to Gary Ladman, and asked him for the most fragrant ones. I also ordered from Bluestone in 2010 April, and I found the copy and they were VIBURNUM CARLESII COMPACTA and Winterthur Viburnum. Maybe one of them is the one in front (does not look like Compacta) and the other one (Winterthur?) maybe died. The Compacta in the back yard I am sure is from Gary because it was ordered in 2009 and was damaged by the big Winterstorm on February 5th 2010 and had only about 3 inches 'trunk' left and I splinted it with the old fashion fabric white bandaid plus a stick and it survived! It is the shortest and has rounded (like a baIl sliced in 2) group of blossoms, I can bring some cuttings if anybody is interested in trying to root them. The fragrance as I said, all 4 blooming is as Chantell said 'Amazing!' I have pictures on my iPhone, but forgot again how to upload them.

@Judy, thanks for the information how to divide Hellebores. None of mine belongs to those beautiful ones. Mine are just regular ones, that I paid about $4.50-$10.00 when they were tiny plants.

Holly, if you have more Bluebells, I would like to have some.
