Thank you kindly, but I already have a bunch of acorns in my stash and I don't need the 50 you gave me when I made my post to Bubbles in the thread. I'm going to give them back to you and you can give them to some other deserving person in need of them for the "raffle", as I'm not interested in it this month. I didn't mean to be one of the eight when I posted.

There is no doubt about Baja_Costero's generosity, but he/she is not only very generous with his/her acorns. Before having acorns to give away, Baja_Costero earned them with great contributions to NGA's Plant Data Base posting pictures and writing articles that we all enjoy!

Oh you are too kind. I came in here a little over a year ago and I remember telling zuzu early on that I would be earning a few acorns a week putting up pictures and stuff, and surprise surprise that is pretty much how it has worked out. The acorns are not useful to me (living in Mexico) so I am happy to share.

This is the place to start if you want to learn a little more about my world (at least the more succulent parts). Tonight's pictures from a walk above the house show the invasive annual succulent M. nodiflorum growing like a carpet, and flower buds from the local (native) yucca about to pop.

Sweet, Baja! The M. nodiflorum does indeed look like a carpet. Its being invasive is a surprise to me. I lived in New Mexico for many years and was familiar with the native yucca there...yours is a lot prettier, but I'll bet the "leaves" are equally sharp!
