Hi, everyone.
Well, Thanksgiving Day is behind us. Shoppers behaved badly in retail stores yesterday. Gladly, I did not get involved in any Black Friday activities, save for work from 2:30PM to 10:30PM. We had no crowds at the liquor store, just the regulars who come in every day for their daily ration of their poison of choice. Next hurdle: Christmas and New Year, then I'm off on my cruise. I can't wait for that.
Last summer, our next door neighbor complained to me that her desert rose never bloomed. When I looked at it, I realized that this was a collection of 6 or 7 cuttings stuck in a large plastic pot with minimal drainage sitting in a saucer that retained water. How the whole thing did not rot on her is beyond me. Having been produced from cuttings, there was no caudex in sight anywhere, but she doesn't care for those. Anyway, we repotted the plants in a terracota pot with good drainage and we started giving the poor thing some fertilizer. That plant had not seen anything resembling fertilizer since the Kennedy administration. Well guess what, it is currently in bloom and my neighbor is in love with it again.
Hey, I also notice our friend Nancy (Happy_1) has joined us. Hidey-Oh, Nancy.
Take care, all.
Sylvain.
