Mike the fact that seeds seldom ever look like the parent keeps in check, as it is I have so many with different names yet look the same, so i have all I want right now.

Yea people don't under stand about seeds unless your a expert at pollinating and have a " pollen free zone " you can get so many different kinds.

that is one reason Coconut is right some times its best to buy a plant that you know what it is you want then growing from seeds and getting ones you already have enough of.

Also one reason im looking at a plant order to get proven plants.

but I for one am going to be grafting so starting from seed and if it is one i dont like so much ill sell or graft something nicer on it!

hmmm, I'd just really like a double of whatever color. I can't have plants sent to me but seeds in an envelope with a card always make it though. I'll take my chances on what comes from them. Let me know what to do and I can send you money via paypal or a check.

and looking in to plants for everyone that can have them. this time the plants look like 12.00-20.00 range not the 45.00-50.00 range

more later i dont want to post and get hopes up and not come threw with anything.

Hi, folks! About seeds, once again, it's a gamble. I bought seeds that were from both parents being double, and only about 15% are double. This was agreed to by a lot of seed growers on the Yahoo Adenium discussion group.

If you buy either red or white seeds from adenium_ko, on Ebay, you will most likely get those colors, rather than pink.

Just don't expect too much from seeds, and wowee, they take a year or longer to bloom.

Very True Melissa it is a great point.

This is the reason the seeds are coming from Mr_ko supplier just not bought threw ebay!
i have received message seeds are being resent so this time I should have them hope this week!

I hate that you will most likely have to wait longer then a year to bloom BUT if the plants bloom close to true or true from parent (mabe even a new plant that no one has) you will have only spent one or two dollars on that plant vrs 15.00-50.00 or more is what some of these run retail. I can not afford to keep buying 35-55$ plants to get the well sought after plants! I have spent the 50,00 per plant and i still have to wait a year or more to bloom!

Yes, good points from you, too!

I am very happy with my seedling, ungrafted plants that are blooming. Pale yellows and some doubles. And I might still buy some online, but wowee, I have too many now!!

I'm afraid you'd be very disappointed, as I am, in what I am calling "yellow" They are more like white with a yellowish throat. And those doubles! I'm getting very exasperated with those droopy things that age so ugly-ly. I don't have any photos, so sorry. It's nice to see an individual flower, but, wowee, the whole deal just isn't worth it! I'm going more for the singles that stay pretty, and bloom a lot.

I only have old photos for now to post while my adeniums recover from my past depression but at least it's something for now, repoted at least 1/3 of them already. It will be a while before I can start taking photos again

Thanks Mike and JT, I have a lot to do to get back were I was but I'll get their, lost ones of my oldest Adenium I had, the second oldest, a 25 year old one, it rain so much and I didn't noticed it was rotting, had it planted in the ground, but thats ok, still got my first on 26 years old, have to repot it but don't have what I need at this moment, Hey JT, have you tryed to plant one over a big porus rock yet, i'm thinking of getting a 5 gallon paint bucket make 4 or 5 one inch holes on the sides bottom for drain, put some potting medium than the big rock filling the side than the adenium and a little more potting medium around it, after a while I would raise the rock a little but no extra potting medium, that way the roots would keep growing around the rock. I think that doing this you can have an adenium coudex fully exposed on a rock that would look quit nice. I got to make sure the rock looks nice also. Anyway, I'll be trying new stuff with what I have for now just to see what I can come up with to share with you all.

Hi Mellisa, your going to need a new deck if you keep getting more, make sure you have a place you can protect them in an emergency, remember we live in huricane zone, you don't want them flying all over the island.

I have not tried to grow one over a rock but that seems like a good idea.I did try one over a CD and that worked just fine, spreading the roots near the surface of the growing medium.

Thanks Doris, about my hibiscus I lost most of them but still have a few, I got 3 new seedling from a cross I made, have to wait a year befor I know what comes out as it takes about a year for them to grow enough so they can bloom, I'm cross pollinating what I have for now to see what I get but it will take a while befor I have a lot again. I've lost so many plant you wouldn't, lost around 50 types of amaryllis alone and like 1,000 seedling I had gotten from them and thats only the amaryllis, remember I had around 500 hibiscus seeding that were about to bloom, lost them too, and a whole lot of other plants I had all gone due to all types of things like too much rain, insects, dogs, and others things, but thats ok, gives me a chance to start all over again, Hilarious! I'm already looking around to see what other people have in there gardens to see what cutting I can get from them, thats how I started my collection in the first place. only problem I have for the moment is getting the potting mix I use, just have to wait and find a way to get it, well just have to see what happens day by day.

JT, I saw the one you did on the CD, I liked it, very original of you doing it that way, it sure looks out of the ordinary, I imagen that you will need a LP as it keeps growing so that the bottom stays flat untill it gets to the size you want it to be. After that you can try and find a acrylic cilinder with a lid and tie the roots around it and place the cylider in a 5 gallon paint bucket so the roots develope downward, as the root develope you just keep raising the cylider until the bottom of the coudex is expossed, then you can remove the cylinder, bet people would be asking how the heck did the bottem of the coudex end up being so flat, Blinking Confused Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling

well have to go for now, got to go to bed so i can wake up at 5:00am to pick up my boy to take him to school tomarrow.
Take Care
Your Friend Wilfred
