@Ursula, you are in the correct thread! Hurray! Your fairy garden scene is adorable! And what a nice collection of succulents! They look realistic that the fairies and gnome are enjoying the company of a little boy and some cute pets. Lovey dubby :hearts:

I bought 3 propeller succulents since I saw yours!

And can't help but notice the "fireball Lillies" in bloom. Mine are just waking up. They are late this season.

@GigiPlumeria, thanks! Smiling Something to play with!

My "Fireball Lillies" are just about waking up too. Mine got started somewhere ca 25 years from 1 corm ( is that the correct description?) picked up at the Philly Flower Show. They really multiplied through the years. I like that they go dormant by February, not taking up the premium spots inside.

I set up a Succulent Fairy Garden of sorts in May 2019., mainly to amuse the younger grandchildren at the time.
Yesterday I was able to move it outside and "restart" most plants. Some plants turned into thugs and took over, choking out others.

Adorable, Ursula! Thank you for sharing. A top-hat wearing dino is a new one for me! LOL! It looks like it might glow in the dark? Love the gnome that looks like he's scratching his behind, or maybe passing some tiny gas? The zebra pot is so cute too! Your whole plant area looks very inviting and luscious.

I am constantly pruning & guiding mini garden plants to keep them compact and some sense of scale, but that's difficult when my objects aren't on the same scale in the first place. But there are no rules in a mini fantasy world. Anything goes! Some people do make such realistic looking micro vistas, which I love, but my creations are probably not going to be in that category. : )

Thanks Tiffany!

I made the mistake last Fall to place the whole contraption into what I thought would be a good, sunny spot in a corner of the greenhouse. By the time everything was back inside, this corner was tough to reach. So everything just grew rampant through the Winter. I really had to do some severe pruning.
Next year - note to self, pick an easier spot! Smiling

It'll have to be cut to size but I'm thinking this will be part of my background or maybe up against the left side that faces the wall.

Thinking about redo-ing this mini. Too much Sedum kimnachii and too many pill bugs in the dirt.

Mine needs to be redone too.
The plants survived, surprisingly but needs to be refreshed.

I've never redone that one, since 2015. Not sure if I do want to dump out the dirt, or just pull up most of that 1 kind of Sedum. I'll leave the parts dangling over the sides if I don't do a complete dump.

It does look like that one Sedum has become quite prolific and could use to be pared back! It's cool to hear that that display is from 2015 thats quite a good run!

Thank you, Connor!

It is a nice Sedum, there's just too much of it in that mini garden. I can harvest more from patches on the ground when I need to. I love how it can look like tiny trees, if trimmed often.

I want to eventually do a mini mountain display with some miniature Portulacaria afra as mini trees like that, just have to get around to prepping the stone! Maybe this fall it's neat how perspectives can change how a plant is viewed in a certain situation like you bring up!
