I thought we could each post a photo from our archives every day to build the excitement for this year's blooms. If you feel like it, say something about the peony. NOIDS welcome, too.

Here is Takara, an Itoh I have had since 2014. It seems like no two blooms are the same.

What a great thread idea, LG! Takara has such a pretty deep pink color!
Love to show off this first peony which was my favorite pink last year, Mrs. FDR:

Karen, Mrs FDR is one of my favorites. Her form is superb. Mine gets so tall she has a full sized large tomato cage for support.
What a great photo. Hurray!

This peony stem was in bud when I brought it home after the Castlegar Peony Show last summer.
It startled me with it's specialness when it opened. I'd love to share this NOID here.
Could this possibly be the Peony lactiflora called 'Neon'?

Thank you for starting this Thread, lg. And thanks kousa and lg for your support. Perhaps I should open a thread with those photos for ID? I've not done this before, and shall have to research as to how it is done.

I look forward to some more Peony photos. I hope more people join in. I'm on page 25 out of 69 pages of looking at the Peonies in the Database, and am amazed at the beauty of so many varieties. What a wonderful resource the Database is.

Nora, I don't have anything that is similar to your Noid but it looks similar to a peony named Charles Burgess. Though it is hard to know for sure.

Gary, your Takara looks so healthy and flowers are just lovely.

Here is an old photo from 2012. Back then I only took photos for my own enjoyment so I did not take a photo of the tag on this one. Hopefully it will bloom again so that I can figure out the name. Sometimes the weather affects the colors of the blooms, so I may not see this one bloom so dark again. I like its fringes.

Nora, I'm so glad you found us, and I look forward to seeing more photos of your peonies.

If you are on Facebook, the Planet Peony Group is very active, and there are members that post photos of peonies that I've never seen for sale here in North America.

Gary, your Takara is so perfect! I love it.

Annette your tree Peony Houki is such a vibrant color. Is it fragrant?

This should be a fun thread...... Lovey dubby

Great idea! Here is mu Hoki last year. Cannot wait to see the flowers this year, although I does not appear that it will have many flowers.

Thank you for showing your Hoki, Annette and Jasmin. What a beautiful striking red color! I bought a general pink TP whose flowers look alot like Hoki. When it blooms this year, I can compare it if it matches yours.

Well, here is a second favorite pic for today, Elsa Sass. Not as clear as I want it to be but I really like this pic because it shows Elsa Sass lovely cup form.

It is such a late bloomer for my area that most of the blooms will be affected by the heat.

Tree peonies last year at Old Summer Palace(Yuanming Yuan), Beijing, China. The original garden was destroyed at war, nowadays, it becomes a park with more than 50,000 peonies on the remains, which includes nine tree peonies whose ages are over hundreds of years.

All I can say is AMAZING, Littlebin! What profusion of blooms! The tree peonies must be real happy where they are planted. One thing is for certain, I have no doubt that my peonies will outlive me. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Wow Littlebin, those peonies are so beautiful. I can't imagine seeing a Peony garden with that many plants. I would have to visit it every day I was in the country. Thanks for sharing. Lovey dubby

Karen, I have Elsa Sass planted from a few years ago that hasn't ever bloomed yet. And also it is not from a reputable nursery, so who knows what the bloom will look like. I just love the Rose form on yours.
I hope mine blooms this year. It is now just breaking ground.

One of my favorite tree peonies from Tree Peony Garden (2014) Shishichifukujin. Breathtaking in person.
