They are Limelight Hydrangeas. A lot of my new daylilies and lilies are going around the fountain too. This summer.

I adore hydrangeas....but they wouldn't last ten minutes in this Texas heat. Before I got serious about "natives", I bought plants that would die the minute I pulled into the gate. Now I just look at photos from the northwest or east coast and
And all those plants that require "full sun" ....well those might work in Pennsylvania or Vermont. Down here full sun is the Death Star.
But the cactus grow great!

We have a lot of favorite places to sit around our properties, but I'll have to take pics of most of them. I just checked, and only found one pic of our upper story deck in NM. We love sitting there, watching eagles and hawks fly by. In summer I hang hummingbird feeders on the railings, and we watch the hummers. The near building is our well house and the one with the windows is my husbands workshop and garage.

You have a nice view of the mountains. And it sounds like you're in a great bird-watching area. I love New Mexico; it truly is the Land of Enchantment. Over the years, I've made several pilgrimages to Acoma - and Old Town in Albuquerque is fabulous. Lots of interesting stuff to see out there.

Thank you all. Liz the deck faces east, but we have a patio on the west side too, for the sunsets. We do love the peace and views of rural NM. A long time ago we lived in Socorro and had to do all of our shopping in Albuquerque. I loved going there and shopping in the Old Town and getting wonderful mexican food!

Another "sitting" place is in the Grandchildren Garden where we roast marshmallows and hotdogs

Your grandchildren are blessed to have such a thoughtful Grandma. All of your seating areas are just beautiful, tranquil spots. Many times I see photos of gardens and think, "But where would you sit to enjoy the flowers or view?" Obviously you've solved that mystery!
And I'd give my eye teeth for those floral pillows!!!

Pottery Barn on the pillows- got them in sale I think last yr or year before.

I'll check out pottery barn.
Meanwhile here's a picnic table that faces no danger of being carried away.
