Thank you for not mentioning that I made my post on the wrong thread. I was supposed to be over on the "post what you did in your garden today". Ooops. Maybe I need to sit down for a while.
Back on track...the subject is sitting...got it!
A few years ago my husband and I participated in a "Chicken Tour" in and around Savannah, Georgia and at one house I saw a very interesting bench. I only took one photo of the detail. Here it is:
That's on my "To-Do" list. I liked the bench because it looked strong enough to hold my weight....which is 203 on a good day.
Hey, Pepper23!! I did not see that one coming. You win the prize...okay, there is no prize. But if there was, it would be yours.
Edited to add:
While inspecting the bunk bed lumber from the road side I found the name Shuqualak which is a lumber company in Mississippi. I telephoned and none of their lumber is pressure treated; just plain old yellow pine. I will have to re-think the garden bed and make a potting bench instead.

Great bench detail @greene - but not being a woodworker, I have no idea how you'd make that deep notch. Hope that whatever you build with the bunk bed lets you save the horses!
Here's another spot where I like to sit.
I know, it wouldn't kill me to sweep off the pad.....maybe tomorrow when it's not raining pollen. Seriously, it's bad out there right now.

Love the swing GrammaChar!
These were my sitting views from the previous house (I dug and moved over 300 plants to the new house )
The Porcelain Vine took over the bench but I tried to crop it back now and then:
I would really like to "recreate" some of the old look, but have lost my shade. I'll keep working on it - I started with NOTHING at the old house and again here. Keep on sitting everyone
Wow - and I do mean WOW!!!!!!! What a gorgeous yard and beautiful flowers!!!!!! I'm suffering some serious jealousy!!! Good for you; moving all those plants must have been a massive undertaking, but glad you didn't leave them behind.
I repeat: Wow!
Thanks so much.
My secret is slow release pelleted basket fertilizer, once a week a drink of 20-20-20 at 1/4 strength, and I have two fish tanks, so they get the old water as well.
I have benches, chairs, tables and places to sit through out my garden- I mainly use these to place tools or items I need that I will be hunting for later... My favorite place to sit, is in my plant ghetto area the work area the area where I hide things from the front or street view. In this area I have an old reclining lounge that has plastic straps, I found this chair in someones trash pile last year and it is the most comfortable lounge. I rarely sit in the garden but when I do, it is in that chair, behind the garage in the plant ghetto. That spot also give some shade in the afternoon, so if I am looking up something about a plant or insect or plant sale... I can use my phone with no glare.
Lovely day lilies!!! This is so much fun to see other people's gardens! That patio looks like a fun place to hang out, Di.
And like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure".
One thing I've learned with my advanced age is that there are times when you just need to sit and appreciate what you've accomplished in the garden instead of focusing on what still needs to be done. Yeah, that usually lasts for about ten minutes. It will never be "done".
Love your double swing @pod - and that cat sure looks comfy!
