Thanks, Janice!

By our avatars alone it's very apparent that we're yearning for Spring, isn't it? Big Grin

I was going to put up a pretty snow scene, but I'm looking at a blizzard of snow outside my windows now, so I'm rather glad I didn't....I'm seeing enough of it as it is! Hilarious!

Here's one from last year....we haven't had more than a skim of ice on the lake so far this winter. Blinking

This one is dated January 16th, so we're way behind on ice development!

We're under a winter storm warning right now....they're saying 6-10 inches, and then dropping into the bitter cold ranges of the temperature scale. I've been out doing last minute stuff (mostly for the farm animals) in preparation for it.

I'd like to sow some more seed so that it could be covered and protected by all of the snow to come, but it's much too windy right now. That's not helpful for seed sowing, but it is keeping the internet dish snow-free....for now at least! Smiling

Well we got snow "yuck" but only about maybe a quarter maybe a half an inch. This winter is weird no snow at Christmas. We got what we have into snow last night, Going down to the single digits tonight though. My poor plants out there. They are used to snow blankets before that happens. Not happening this year.

Janice - your "?" in your photos back there looks a lot like dead nettle (or hen bit, never could distinguish between the two).

Our weather is completely freaking out. We've had rain, snow, blue skies, 60º temps, below freezing temps and frost - all this year, so far. Beat that...

Oh, Sheryl, I hope it is Lamium! Smiling Smiling
I threw so many seeds there, I never know what is popping up. It is curious it is blooming so early, but the plants have been confused by the warm weather.
Today, however it has been ccccccold!

Your weather sounds crazy there, too Blinking Confused .

Today was our coldest day so far this year- a high of 27° I think. But tomorrow we're supposed to be 40°. We had a fraction of an inch of snow yesterday, first of the year. At this time last year we'd had 16" already.

I'm not complaining though. Winters like this I could take.

Yuppers, both henbit and dead nettle are lamiums. Rolling on the floor laughing

Sorry, yours is probably a different one. The other two are huge lawn weeds, here.

OH well now I have some Lamium that I just love. Planted some about 4 years ago and yes it is a tad incorrigible. Its jumped the side walk and into the bed across from it. That's okay, ground cover, less weeds. It has managed to get into a front bed further away, don't know how, but that is okay, once again, ground cover.

It has gotten into the grass which I find very funny. I just dig it up and use it for, yep ground cover. It jumpe up along side of the neighbors house She has nothing but weeds on that side of the house and welcomes the plant over there. If it starts geetting lost in the seeds I'll go dig it up, I planted it first; it is mine and I will use if for ground cover. I noticed the other day it is still very pretty, even with all the cold. If I think of it once the sun starts shining I will go out and get a pic of the little one I found on accident.

Has reallty dainty purple flowers in the early summer and through to fall.

What kind of lamium is it CeCe? Some are more invasive than others.

Yes, Cherie, I have had Lamium in may forms for years (not the weed varieties) and love them, too. I especially like Lamiastrum galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride'. So prettywith bulbs in Spring.
