I will check it out.

kqcrna said:Nope. At this time of year, wintersowers are in a buying/trading frenzy.
I ordered a few seeds from Pinetree yesterday. If you wait too long, sometimes things sell out.

Just wondering what kinda seeds did you get? My very last two orders were from Summer Hill for Penstemon Violet Dusk, Digitalis 'Monster Purple' Zinnia Giant Cactus Red. And one from eBay for Hosta seeds and Yellow coneflower called Cutleaf Coneflower ‘Golden Glow’.
But this is absolutely it I swear. Rolling on the floor laughing

I bought Corydalis lutea, maybe a couple of others, (but I don't remember) for WSing. And I got some begonia dragon wing and bacopa for indoor sowing. That's about it so far.

In past years I did lots of seed saving and trading, and buying too. I have a seed stash already, plenty to work from.

*Finally* heard back from Van Bourgondien - my order did go through.

Of course, now I'm not sure that I want it, even at 50% off! Hopefully they'll surprise us.

Nice selection I hope they all work out for you. Are they coming as potted plants or bare-root? Do you have any Stokesia already ? I had one a few years ago and it was a very aggressive spreader.

I have the 'Twilight Prairie Blue' False Indigo and love that one! It did very well for me last year.

I also have some of the tall Phlox ... don't remember for certain which ones at the moment.

I was bummed to learn that Coneflowers can suffer from the Aster yellows and have to be removed if they contract that. I have a friend who had to dig up all her Cones this year due to that. Sad

I haven't had any problem with the Aster yellows but understand that once a plant is infected, there is no cure. It has to go.

Patriot Hosta ... Hurray!

If anyone in the more southern states is looking for bulbs, Netherland Bulb is having a 50% off sale. I think the minimum order is 50.00. I would recommend them. Hyacinths mixed, 25 for 15.00.

Sheryl, please let us know how your order looks.

I certainly will. Some of them will absolutely have to be bare root - the hosta, and I suspect the Hellebores as well.

Wow, Bob - I had never heard that Stokesia was aggressive, thanks for the heads up. The area they will be in is bordered on two sides by sidewalk and the other side by Bermuda grass that only allows for clover and wild onion, lol. We'll see how it does.

If you all like Patriot, you'd love Loyalist, too - it's the exact photo opposite. I thought they'd make a nice foil for each other.

I had 'Twilight Prairie Blue' False Indigo but it fell into bad hands .... the guy who helps me with my lawn sometimes. And I think I might have over zealously weeded the other one out, boo. Thumbs down
