My latest order of drastically reduced perennials from Santa Rosa, received about three weeks ago, was wonderful! The plants' roots filled the containers, were exceptionally healthy-looking, and the plants have taken off already!
There were several others that I wanted to order, but they won't be available until spring, so I'll pre-order them now.

I just looked up 'wippersnapper' .

I am finally getting a hardy ground orchid plus a few coneflowers. Now is a good time to replace the stuff I killed during the year!

Give your Geranium Rozanne all the sun you can possibly get. Mine grew rangy and flopped everywhere in part sun. If you shear it after it's first flush it'll likely bloom again once late summer temps start to lower.
I'm growing Lewisia and Bletilla for the first time, too...haven't killed them yet, although the critters keep digging up my orchids.

Thanks chelle! Good advice and I am sorry to hear about your orchids.

I grow Penstemon Red Riding Hood. It is three years old. It is red. They didn't have the different color Riding Hoods back then. Mine is a trooper! Blooms ALL summer long and into the fall. Still blooming now even after lots of hard frosts. Also the plant gets large for me and I divide it for other areas of my garden. Early this fall I bought two of the new colors on closeout at Lowe's or Home Depot. Can't wait to see them in spring
