I have a number of unregistered daylilies and some NOID's. Is there a way for me to add them (with a picture) to my database?

Sue you could post your pictures of NOIDs or unregistered to the main plant enters for Hemerocallis.

See it here,

Daylilies (Hemerocallis)

But I don't believe that there is a way to add it to your personal list if it's unregistered and listed in the data base.

@petruske

In a way you can add NOIDs and unregistered daylilies, but not so it is as useful as with registered plants.
I just added a photo to my list so you could look at it and see if that would be of any use to you.
First you will need to add the generic entry for Hemerocallis. Then you will have to add any notes and photos over in the notes section. You can actually add events also, but you have to make sure you include a garden name or location or something to let you know what plant the event was for. I can see it would have some very limited use, but not sure it would be worth the trouble for you. Look at my list and bring it up by Genus: Hemerocallis, the first entry you will see then should be for NOIDs and such. Tmail me if that looks like something you might want to try, if not let me know and I will remove that photo, which by the way was a noid but I found out it was actually Carlotta! I am sure if you played around with it you might find more imaginative ways than I have shown to customize it more to your needs.

Larry, since I don't use the lists I'm no help here and may not be understanding how it works, but would other people be able to see a garden name in that way? If so I would have a concern that this could potentially cause confusion if the garden name was the same as a valid registered name or if a future daylily was registered with that name.

@sooby
There are vendors out there who do make that a problem. But no, this would not be a problem in that way. Yes, others could see the names and the notes, but the way it would have to be displayed currently under the generic entry, makes it very clear that the plants done in this way are not named varieties. Look at my plant list and you will see.

Thanks, Larry. I can't actually see the events column because it is obscured by your categories list and an advertisement (probably an iPad thing) but I'll take your word for it Smiling
