With the use of the "report a post" button- moderators are not crucial. In fact, most of our forums don't have mods.

With the invention of the "report this post" button, there is no huge need for a moderator. The Florida forum is filled with wonderful members who keep the conversations going with interesting gardening topics

Thank you for the vote of confidence Lin. I'm about in your same situation though. I know better than to take on something more at this particular point in time. As a matter fact I have fallen so far behind on simply reading the threads that I used to follow avidly and post on.
I think Trish is right. I really don't think it's imperative for the Florida forum to have a moderator. It seems to do fine just rumbling along on all on its own. I certainly would not object to a moderator though if someone were willing to step forward.

Yeah, I just thought having a moderator might be nice for Info box suggestions or "sticky" suggestions but we can always contact admin. if something comes up that we think is important enough to have on the front page.
