We are lucky if we get 8 inches a year. At 93 inches, surely I would have washed away in a flood. Our soil does not absorb water so well!!

It's just cold here. 17 deg this AM. And no snow on the ground and no snow in the forecast. This is the driest winter we've seen here!

Crazy weather around here only 4 degrees a few days ago and 58 today feels like a nice spring day.

We did have major flooding on more than 1 occasion this past year .

No snow here. You'd have to measure the frost if you measured anything. Warm here too. We will be in sad shape this summer, won't we?

They are probably doing that down the road from me the 2 ski slops are getting no snow and temps are not helping with making snow. They could not open for the holiday season. Big trouble for a small community that needs the tourist.

So does that mean this is going to be a short winter for everyone. Or does it always bloom this early?

Sure does, Alan. Winter hasn't even really started yet in Ohio. It should have arrived about a month ago. We've had a few isolated cold days and nights, but nothing lasting. It was 53° here today, warm and sunny. Norm is 37°.

Spring bulbs are popping up here.

I dont know how to interpret the "LongRange" forecast but its my thought there wont be much of a temp change when spring comes. Our days are like April now, nights are really cold tho.

We got a dusting of snow, but it's c-c-cold! 16° this morning. Another chance of a little snow over the weekend, an inch or two, but back to 47° by Monday. This is my kind of winter- a few cold days, maybe a little snow, then back to warmer weather. The past couple of winters have not been kind to us- sustained, frigid temps while buried in feet of snow and ice for months at a time. We really were due for a break.

Jo Ann, you can get long range weather forecast maps on weather.com. Lots easier to understand than those NOAA forecasts.

The witch hazel is about three weeks early. It has been frezzing here for about three days. That should slow things down.
