Is it possible to have working links in photo captions? If so, then there seems to be an issue with parsing the URL for the New Horizon Orchids forums, where they post most of their cultivar photos for discussion. I suspect this may be because it uses a static IP and not a domain name.

Sure. This is the one corresponding to the aforementioned link:

Ok, I see. Yes, the links like that have been completely disabled. If one wants to make their own hyperlink out of an image, they have to make a thread below the image to give the extra information and link.

The "Image courtesy of..." links that you see in some photos here are hard coded by me in the system. I can add one for New Horizon Orchids, if you wish. Then whenever their name is mentioned in any caption, it automatically makes it into a hyperlink.

Note that hyperlinked captions still don't show in the popup dialog, but they do show when you are viewing the photo in the database.

FYI, we have a running thread in the admin forum called 'Vendor links list' to address any additions and removals. All links are located at the bottom of any page and we occasionally check them to make sure they still work. (I also go through the daylily & iris ones to add new Spring or Fall intros)
