Thanks guys for the positive comments and thumbs up's on my last posting. I really appreciate it! And Jackie, I really love your spider -- wonderful contrast of that deep dark burgundy purple with that bright green star-shaped throat! I guess some of you might have gleaned from my postings that I'm somewhat partial to those big green throats... nodding

And now for a few more...
FROGGY - A Rich Howard (CT Daylily) 2016 intro. So far this is a small-flowered daylily for me, although it's registered at 5.5", and I'm making mostly crosses with dip minis. You can see the border color changing with our Bakersfield weather changes. Love this one!

Valerie and Heidi - I just ordered Siloam June Bug and it should be arriving this week Hilarious!

Great minds think alike!

Fantastic blooms, by the way - so many varieties with saturation, eyes, watermarkings, etc. Ooh I love Mother Nature's works of art!

Are any of these particularly fragrant?

I'm glad I got the shots I did today. When I went out to cover up the plant, I found out that the deer ate the bloom and all the buds on both scapes of Catapult Sam. Crying

Born and killed on the same day. It's been a rough one.

I get the impression that you have a lot of critter activity in your yard and deer love to eat daylilies. I live in an urban area and I battle the deer every year. I find vigilance with deer repellent and planting my faves close to the house a successful strategy. So far this year I have only received a few bud nibbles Crossing Fingers!

My daylily season is just getting underway as well. It means a tour around the garden with a camera every morning--before coffee! These are the first to open here.

This has been my strategy, as well. Regular use of a deer repellent, seems to work so far. I use Bobbex. If I have a very special plant, I will erect a barrier with stakes and bird or deer netting.

@Jillz and @touchofsky - I ordered some Plantskydd and netting and a couple more boxes of Kleenex.

This is the first time I've dealt with critter destruction to the point of tears, so I'm trying to cope productively lol -- thanks so much for all of the support and sympathy.

I've been having a rough go at a lot of things lately (I know I'm not the only one) and I really need these plants/garden/hobby to work out so I can have an outlet for my stress....

Thanks again everyone!

I know your pain Crying The first time the deer damaged my garden, they ate the scapes off 1/3 of my daylilies. Of course, it was a week before a church organized charitable garden tour that my garden was a part of Grumbling I was frantic, since the daylilies were the feature of the garden.

Thankfully, all the visitors were very kind!

Hang in there Jackie. Good for you for turning a setback into action!
I try to take a zen attitude towards my garden cuz Mother Nature is always throwing stuff at you. Enjoy all the little successes even though (or because!) they are transient.
