Frank Smith currently owns the larger percentage of the daylily business with Pete Harry, who will be moving the nursery & hopes to eventually own the entire business. Frank could not devote his time and efforts into both daylilies and his first business, orchids. He is one of the foremost orchid experts in the world and that keeps him busy as well as doing a large portion of the landscaping for Disney properties.

Wow, I'm really amazed at the three blooms shown too! Sure wish I could attend something like that!

Gosh, those blooms shown sure are unusual but I am not sure that I actually like them. I guess it is because I am not used to daylilies with those patterns. I sure can see why hybridizers would love them though.

I would love to go, but it falls on the weekend that the Mobile (AL) club and the Pensacola (FL) club are having their daylily shows; I participate in both.

I'll never get to go unless I win the lottery. The last 2 weeks in May are the craziest part of Swimming Pool season for us, so taking off just doesn't happen then.

John Peat told me that red one with the Bands in it is a seedling to Ted Petit's. Now that one is going to cost a bundle if he releases it. He betrter have lots of Fans.

Someday, I will go. But, I have a son graduating from college in the opposite direction - Grand Forks, North Dakota during that period.

I am hoping to go to the Northern Mecca this yr. I love visiting the KY gardens like Daylily World, the Rices in Paris, KY and others. The galas are so fun. I am looking forward to the Ohio gardens. Bob Faulkner has some awesome patterns! I visited him about 3 yrs ago.
I wanted to attend last yr but it didn't work out. Parents and sister were sick, hopeful it will be better this season.

Anyone going?

I would love to go, as I have family in the Cleveland, OH area, but the weekend it falls on just doesn't work for me. I have a coworker on vacation that week, and I annually judge a cat show that Saturday (pet cats, small local fair) so it just doesn't work out. But I am crossing my fingers for 2013 though! ~Jan
