Jean what a beautiful woodland setting. I find peace in my sunny 🌞 gardens but I sure would be at peace in yours too. Minus the deer or other nibbling creatures.

@Kabby We love the woodland setting. There are some full sun plants I would love to grow, but I can always come here to enjoy others' gardens!

@Bubbles We live mostly at the back of the house. When I get up, I can look out on the garden. We have a deck on the back where we have indeed, had many cups of coffee!

Way back in 2004, when I joined DG ...It was right after our pointer Rosie passed. She was my garden buddy...still is...I just can't SEE her.

Doesn't matter if you can see her....she is in your heart and you can feel her...just as I can feel the 5 Greyhounds, 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Catahoula mix in my Memory Garden

@gingin I just saw this. You had a Catahoula mix! Here is my beloved Gumbo, who left me 2 years ago. Catahoula and setter.

Smartest dog ever. He was my service dog and saved me from PTSD. We also became a therapy team and worked with kids in residential treatment. Loved him so much.

My current dog, Chinle, is a Catahoula/Lab mix. More lab in personality than Catahoula. I always say he is sweeter than sugar, dumber than a rock. He eats bees and bean plants, hates aloes and digs them up on sight, believes that corn is a plague on the world, has never met a body of water that he approves of, and works as a reverse retriever. That is to say that he will take a group of something, say paper cups, and distribute them individually and randomly around the house. He finds really tricky places to hide them, too!

If I had known what D*O*G's personality was like when first he stole my heart I would have named him Cardiac. He was nothing but a walking heart muscle He was creamated on Valentines Day

@gingin, Chinle drives me bonkers with his antics, but I can't help but love him. I'm so glad I had him when Gumbo passed. I don't think I would have made it without him.

Mine was to be 'piksi_hk' but some how the underscore didn't make it; it is translation of my Chinese name 'Piksi' (you have to say it with Chinese accent) and the 'hk' is for Hong Kong. Born in Hong Kong but immigrated to Texas when I was 5 so I'm a Texan and even have Texas accent, according to my cousin who lives in Brooklyn; but I think she's the one with the accent.

I used to be nanny_56 on DG and several other garden sites. That was when the internet was new and very few just wanted to be themselves. Everybody used a made up name. So by the time this site came around I just decided to be me Claudia. Its much easier for me to remember!
