Yes, there were 2 'challenges'.

For clarification, the first was by Dave and that one said he'd create a new forum after 3 articles were posted.

The second challenge was by greene. Her challenge would award acorns to the first 3 people to post new articles. And as she pointed out, she created her challenge so that we would meet Dave's challenge faster.

Hope this helps clarify. If not, then you can blame @joannakat because she started the whole campaign for a new forum to begin with. 😝

I have no clue why folks are saying that dave issued a "challenge".
All he did was to make a statement that the new forum would be created after 3 or more new articles/idea were posted in the suggested place.

It's all about perception...

What about ideas that aren't specifically related to gardening? I had posted this idea on the Sandbox thread in the Daylily forum, but the only exposure it got was only in the daylily community...

This is a gardening-oriented site; other ideas can always be posted in the Sandbox forum -- or, of course, you can utilize your "blog" to record anything you want.

I don't think there is a "sandbox thread" in the daylilies forum -- if you originally posted in the daylilies forum, your post was probably moved to the Sandbox by the admins.

There IS, however, a Garden Art forum, so if you have something that fits in that category you could always post there.

You're right.....no Sandbox thread in the Daylily forum. I did post it in the Sandbox forum, as it's own thread. Got myself confused! That was the best place for it, as things stand. The thing is, it was intended to be an article, that I couldn't post in any article specific forum....Being that this is a gardening site, perhaps there is no room for an article forum for all things not gardening, and I get that. I was just curious...
