They say that despite the above average rainfall this December, the drought should intensify or persist in Texas.
Lets prove them wrong Texas!!!!
Lets all hope for more rain in January. There is a 50 percent chance this Monday in my area.

Our county let the burn ban expire so someone is optimistic. We too are promised rain Monday.

Oh...how is your orchard doing, Jujube? The lake that's close to us is really pathetic...I hear it's dangerous to go out in a boat there. People that aren't too familiar with the various levels can easily have accidents, scraping the bottom in many places. We've got 70% chance predicted on Sunday night...so far. For S.A., 80%. December was wet here, that helped. But we're still in Extreme drought level, La Nina still is still putting its curse on us.

Had good storm here overnight last night and it's been raining a good gentle steady rain all day long today. I hope it continues. Predicted to rain tomorrow and Wed. as well. I hope it does. Hurray!

According to the Houston Chronicle's weather guy: "I expect that the margin of “exceptional drought” will retreat from southwestern Harris County and the margin of “severe drought” will enter southeastern Harris County. The northern half of the county did not do nearly as well as the southern half." http://blog.chron.com/sciguy/2...

I'm in the northern half of the county, but I suppose it's still good news - not that being in "just" a severe drought is good, but at least it's a couple drops of rain in the right direction.

Just a trace here. December was a much better month for our area.

I was trying to avoid thinking of the 'D' word. I really was. But April has had no rain here other than just traces from drizzle here and there. They keep giving the Stage 2 water restriction info on the S.A. stations,,,deja vu! So although I don't even believe those experts that speculate about these things, I googled. So far, nobody's predicting drought, but I wonder....April always has rain! Even Fiesta hasn't made it rain...and it always rains during Fiesta.

We're back in stage 1, watering twice a week before 10am and after 7pm. We can hand water anytime. We have so many oak trees with all those nasty tassels everywhere. I'm going to risk a ticket and power wash the sidewalks and patio. We're carrying that stuff into the house and both of us are hacking from all the pollen, and also whatever our DGS has shared with us!

We have soooo many GC Frit butterflies. My passifloras are nearly stripped. I have to move some cats that are trying to eat the wrong stuff. Feel like I'm interfering with Mother Nature.

I know what you mean. Official rainfall recorded in S.A. for the month of April: 0.01 inches...probably about the same here.

We were at the lake yesterday and today. The weatherman didn't quite call it correctly. It was a lot more rain and lightning than predicted. Our house is on a peninsula of sorts. I was afraid the lightning was going to arc over the water (which it has done before). We didn't get all that much ran, though. Came home to over 2" in the gauge. DD said there were power outages around here. Loved that we didn't have to water this evening!
