Macrame hangers! Wow! That's a blast from the past! Suddenly my mind is full of bright orange fuzzy yarn with big wooden beads! Remember that?

I grow a few painted ferns outdoors in shade and they have been very drought tolerant - not a fussy moisture lover like maidenhair. I think you will do fine with it.

It is doing very nicely. Here is a new picture of it in the sunny south facing window on the windowsill. Have Macrame Pot Hangers on order, should be here soon, then I will hang it! Smiling I mist it every other day.

I think it is about to be put in a macrame pot hanger by that window. Leaves table space for more houseplants...hehehe

On the left of that is an Ephyllium I am trying to root, and to the right is that new Sansevieria that I just got.

Alan,
Way to go. And you almost ditched it. Glad it came to life with your good care.

Wow.... maybe I'll dig the two I have up and bring them with me as house plants. Why not?
In the end, only kindness matters.

Science is not the answer, it is the question.

I know this thread is ancient but I'm dying to know what ever happened with this fern. I also live in the Phoenix area and I just ordered some of these so my plan is to attempt to grow them in a shaded area outside.

Pizza, I don't think they post here anymore. Been awhile. Start a new post and some one will check in. I'm in zone 6 and the painted ferns grow great here.
