I have ordered from Swallowtail. Don't recall any problems, and trust me, I remember problems!

Absolutely. I have wintersowed agastache here in Ohio and they did great. True, they didn't bloom until late summer but turned into big healthy plants that lasted several years.

This is 2007, late summer of the year I sowed these Purple Pygmy. You can tell what a dry year we had by my neighbor's lawn in the background.

No, those tall things are verbena bonariensis, the bane of my garden existence. I've been trying to get rid of them ever since.

i like the plant myself. i bet they might reseed a little too well in a place that gets rainfall though. are they annual where you are?

They're supposed to be annual here, but they survive winter with no problem.

steph i am fairly certain we could get them to grow in your yard. i find with poppies it's all about the timing. need to sow those seeds early enough.........late dec./early jan. but you also need to watch for when the rain starts.

With a ATP member's help, I was able to harvest some of the snapdragon seeds but talk about fine dust! Not sure it is worth the effort but I had to tackle it and I'm glad I did. Thanks to all.

Did you know that you can also propagate snapdragons from cuttings? I just found that out recently; haven't tried it yet because my plants aren't very big yet, but that is the best way to make sure they look like the original! Smiling

I've lost several old clumps of snapdragons this year. They fried in the 100° heat.

Woofie, I didn't know snapdragons could be propagated by cuttings. I'm going to give that a try.
