I have a plan to amuse myself for after the swap:
I will gather the varieties of seeds I saved for myself, or packs I have bought for myself, and check if the Plants database has a decent photo of the seeds.
If not, and I am sure of the ID, I will photograph the seeds and upload them (I do not add photos of specific varieties much, I add to the species listing, we do not need to clog the database with useless duplicate photos).
I find it very useful to have such photos in there, also of the seed pods. Also of seedlings. I also use

I fiddled around with this a bit over the last few years, here is my advice for how to take a decent photo:
1- Put away your nice expensive camera, get out your cell phone. The tiny sensor gives a better (deeper) depth of field for close-up photos.
2- sprinkle seeds on a non-shiny piece of paper, put an old less-shiny dime by the seeds, for scale.
3- brace camera on a pile of books or a box or something to lessen camera shake, check to see you can still focus, too close and you cannot focus. I generally do this near my window and skylight during the day, the cell phone flash causes reflections and shadows. Not in direct sun.
4- Take a picture.
5- Optional- crop and label in the cell phone
6- Upload photo to database.
