Thanks for the warm welcome!

I just looked at my few attempts at WS and one is a lupine! I had forgotten. Might be doomed since we don't get much of a winter down here but we'll see.

I bought some seeds too for the Indigo, have not planted them. I think Lupine should do good for you, it's the heat and humidity they do not like. Keep us posted, also pictures! Hurray!

Ok, here I go! I ordered 3 Peonies with no problems. Got a confirmation 3 days ago. ORDER STATUS UPDATE: PROCESSING COMPLETE. All 3 Peonies were listed and I was told that my order would ship at the proper time for my zone. The next day was the proper time, only at that point one was unavailable and is 'PENDING', will be shipped by end of APRIL. The other two between 3/11 & 4/01 and those two came today! I am interested to see when the other one will come and that was the yellow one called Primevere. The other two are Karl Rosenfield and Sorbet Peony. All three peonies came to 51.97 and they gave me a coupon code for 25.00 off of a $50.00 order and the shipping was 11.95 so my bill was 38.92 for 3 very nice peonies. Great deals as usual but minor problems with order fulfillment. I sometimes think they are selling me stuff they don't actually have, but I am always happy with the good deals I get and I wait it out. What can I say, go for it! They are not perfect but you WILL get your plants someday! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

They have some new growth, so they should be fine, Susan. I picked up an old fashioned red one that looks about like it for $4.95. If you are interested in peonies I can recommend this place, it is beautiful to see. I might try and take mom over there it is about a 50 mile drive.

Opps this is for bad sources, above is a farm fairly close to me that is GOOD.

I had a Peony here when we bought this house and I dug up the front bed very early in the spring and I thought it was a hosta, looked just like all the other roots so I cut it in half too. Later that year I had a cute little shrub with light pink flowers but I did not like it because it has to be staked so much. I am experimenting to find something I like. Hopefully I can afford an Itoh Peony next year! Does your friend have any? Green Grin!

Susan- Your peony roots look OK. They seem to have several eyes on each. Be sure to plant them very shallow. Only 1" below the surface. I was suprised they shipped now...most peonies ship in the fall!

Get 'em planted. I just meant it is an odd time of year to ship peonies! Were they reasonably priced? Sorry if you have already said, I missed it!

Yes, I got 25.00 off an order of 50.00 or more, so the three peonies came to 51 and so I got all three for 36.00 after shipping. I had been wanting a few. Thumbs up

I got some peonies from Michigan Bulb that were shipped around this time of year and they did fine and I even got a couple of blooms that first year! So by all means plant 'em!
