Looks like we are in for Christmas-y weather until Thursday and then it is supposed to warm up again. Another green Christmas Shrug!

Here more Iris pics - two yellows and some violets (purple?).... I think 'Twist of Fate' and 'Dialogue' are absolutely stunning and will be definite additions if I find a vendor offering them!

Seeing all these historics makes me want to get more.. I'm sick about some of the losses I've had this past year. I divided a few for the Hips sale when we had that horrible incessant heat... the replanting
of Grand Canyon and Los Angeles pretty much fried them.

I'm wondering what camera or phone you're using. The pictures have nice saturated color.

Hi Sherry, sorry to hear about your losses!
Going through all these photos again also makes me think I should think about adding more historics! Just because they aren't new doesn't mean they should be forgotten - Iris like 'Starshine and 'Hofdame' are just exquisite!

I was using a Fuji FinePix HS20 when I took these photos but I found the photos were always over-saturated and had to tweek nearly all of them - that is why it is taking me so long to upload all the photos. I have since changed to a Nikon D5500 which take much better photos.

Twist of Fate was a poor grower for me. I think I no longer have it.

Sorry to hear that Greg - it is rather striking and I would probably give it a go if I could get my hands on it.

And now some more photos...
although I really like the lavender/violet toned iris, I think my favourite out of this bunch has to be 'Pink 'n' Mint'!
'Timescape' is a very, very close second and I won't mention my least favourite Whistling

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends!

And now that the busy festive season is a thing of the past, I have time to continue adding the photos. I actually uploaded these to the database before Christmas but didn't get around to adding them to the thread...

Sharlene, I hope you and your family had a very nice Christmas.

I have to make a small correction to your pictures. The Iris Persian Smoke is wrongly labeled in Basel. The correct name is Embassadora.

Thumbs up You make very good photos

Hi Fritz, yes we had a wonderful time - hope you did too!

Thanks for the info on the labelling for Persian Smoke. I do check for reference photos before I upload and I did think there was a bit less veining on my photo but other than that it seemed correct. I checked now and see that Persian Smoke and Embassadora are very similar! I have made a request to have the photo moved and will change my files as well.
Thanks again - nice to know that someone is checking on me Big Grin

@KentPfeiffer - Kent, I am presuming you moved my photo of Embassadora - thanks! And thanks again to Fritz @IrisP for pointing out the error. Just goes to show that mistakes happen, even in the big show gardens. Actually, I have a bunch of others which seem to be incorrectly labelled at the gardens and will post them when I am done with the others.

Here's the bunch uploaded yesterday ...
