They must grow pretty fast, as 2 of the seeds have sprouted and are doing good so far. One is about 3 inches tall, the other just a shade smaller. Should have waited until June to start apparently They are in a pot with one of my pelargonias now. Wonder how long I can get away with leaving them there?
I have yellow four o'clocks that grow from seed every year and every year I end up yanking out lots of plants. If anyone wants some seed this fall, just let me know!

Hey, Angie! I might could use some of those yellow 4 O'clock seeds. The ones I bought (grrrrr) so far haven't sprouted. The pink, magenta and white seeds I collected last year all did well, but those darn purchased seeds haven't sprouted....not a single one! Does anyone know if that particular color takes longer to germinate? I know that can happen with some other plants.

Hmmm, I planted them all on the same day after the same pre-treatment....don't remember if I used peroxide or not. Maybe I'll re-try the stubborn ones with some added peroxide.

I'm wondering about the same color issue with nicotiana Perfume series. I wintersowed them. I have lots of sprouts in the jug of red. The purple has 3 tiny sprouts. I know the seeds were separate packs from different companies, but I don't know which companies. And I'm wondering if red just sprouts earlier, easier than purple, or if the purple seeds were duds.
I collected seeds off the purple nicotiana I bought at Wally World last year (and yes, it was fragrant, just not really strong scented) and they came up like crazy! Don't know what I'm going to do with them all! So I don't think it's a color issue.
