Hi all. It has been a long couple of days. Good news is that my mom is recently out of surgery and all went well. It will be another long day at the hospital tomorrow, but everything should be more settled by the end of the day and I'll be more than ready to let my working siblings take over on Saturday and I'll pick back up on Sunday. So, at this point my swap attendance is still a go Thumbs up

If Terri makes it and i don't, she'll be my plant fairy (ferrying my plants to the swap and bringing back plants for me).

I didn't put cuttings of Japanese variegated willow, var. Weigela, or Aunt Erna's lilac on the swap list because I don't think they have struck good roots yet... some are still green, so they may "take," but they are probably better off not being disturbed. Same goes for the Coral Honeysuckle, really... I'd rather have real plants to give in fall. I know I'll see Rick & Larry at some point even if they don't get to the fall swap, but I'm less sure of seeing RobinBunch and SueD -- so I'll try to get some likely looking Coral Honeysuckle cuttings into your hands on Saturday.

Many of the Japanese Snowbell tree cuttings also still look green, despite being taken at the "wrong" time, so who knows, I may have those to share in fall also!

Holly, I'm so sorry to hear that, how disappointing. Thoughts and prayers for Ric.
And for Terri's mom.

I can't think of anyplace on the way to me that's actually in flood danger. Fingers crossed, any storms continue to be just gusty, and not very high winds. Sump pump been earning it's keep.
Plant it and they will come.

OK, time to start listing things I forgot about!!

Who would like a RASPBERRY (bird-sown, looks like Heritage) or a THORNLESS BLACKBERRY? Pots are large enough I'd rather leave them home if there's no interest.

Holly- i hope things get better keeping good thoughts winging your way

i have bagged everything that folks said they wanted- including folks who may not be there. If that is the case- how would the non attendees like to get their plants? I will bring it all, and if need be take them back and ship them out.

i also have extra of some things- so bringing that along.

see everyone tomorrow!

S Smiling

I'm still on the fence, but getting ready regardless! I'll bring the thornless blackberries & raspberries... have 2 pots of each, so unclaimed will go on the "free to good home" table.

Sue and others... if Terri makes it and I don't, she'll be my "plant fairy" (ferry?). If neither of us make it, perhaps we can prevail upon somebody in our general area (RickM, Greenthumb) to squeeze things in for us. No worries about packing & sending. I'd rather have you just give them away, and I'm quite sure Terri feels the same.

The coral honeysuckle cuttings are looking really pathetic. Sadly, I may have to retract them and say that I'll try again next year. Once the plant gets some new growth on it this summer (we really seriously hacked it back like a bad haircut), I'll try to bend some branches to the ground or pin them into a pot. I've generally had better luck that way than with cuttings -- although I once broke off a piece for Gita, who took it home and rooted it in water, then stuck it into the ground, and it tried to take over.

Ric is doing better, new antibiotics are working well. Still won't be able to come to the swap but just wanted you all to know that he is well on the way to better health.

Hurray! Ric!

Is anybody coming down from PA that could be Ric & Holly's "plant fairy?"

Or, Terri, do you have space on your plant shelves until we can do a road trip up thattaway? (I'd offer but you're more organized by far this year!)
