In spite of Hurricane Irma's interference, this is shaping up to be a banner year for blooms. Here are a few recent ones:

That's gorgeous, Michael! One of the large ones I got from you has buds, but it's taking forever to show them to me.

I've been lurking and Drooling at all these beautiful Plumie blooms. I no longer grow them but if/when we move back south to our house in Sebastian later this year, I might have to order a couple to plant in the garden and I hope to get a couple of cuttings from neighbors who grow them.

I had Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Intense Rainbow') that I got as a cutting in a trade years ago. I grew it in a container for many years and then planted it in the ground when we bought our house in Sebastian in 2015. I rooted only one cutting that grew to about 3 feet and I gave it to a neighbor about a year ago. My 5 foot tree got damaged in Hurricane Irma last fall when a huge Maple branch crushed it. I thought it could be saved but the last time my husband went to our house down there he said it was totally dead. Sad

A few of our neighbors there grow Plumeria so I'm hoping to score a cutting or two when we move back. Green Grin!

In this hot, 90+ degree heat here in Central Texas how often should I be watering my 2yr old Plumeria?

Chris I water mine almost every day in this heat. We have the same temperatures as you. I have an irrigation system with a WiFi controller so I can skip days when needed with no effort.

If you have well draining soil (which is a must) you can water them at will. We have had copious amounts of rain here in Florida in the past week and all the Plumeria are happy! See?
