So much for getting excited about garden season coming around. Went from bare ground with early tulips and hyacinth breaking ground to 3 nor'easters in a 3 week stretch. Guess I'll just have to wait. *sigh*

Go home, Old Man Winter, you're drunk!

Mom has a lot of snow. She only lost power for a half hour yesterday. It's tough being so far away from my parents right now.
Wrong thread, lol

Got 100 - 4" jiffy pots filled yesterday with my homemade seedling mix in the greenhouse. (1 gallon peat moss, 1 gallon vermiculite, 2 tbsp. dolomite lime, 1 tsp slow release organic fertilizer, moistened with a 1/2 gallon of water mixed with Mycorrhizae Inoculant Powder) Made enough to fill some larger pots for my egg plants and bell peppers. I think I am going to try and grow them in the greenhouse this year. They never seem to do too well outside. I think it's because we start dropping down into the 40's at night in August here in the Poconos. We'll see. Today, I have to measure for some more raised gardens outside the greenhouse. I'm running out of room! I'll get the wood from a local saw mill. I use Tamarack wood.....natural, rot resistant and cheaper than treated lumber from Lowes or Home Depot.

Update on my cold frames after planting seeds 4 weeks ago....doing well.

The spinach and lettuce are growing fast, and you can see the scallions starting to make their move in the back. They are still small and thin so they are hard to see in the picture. They are about the size of blades of grass.

Thumb of 2018-03-19/MoonShadows/572e96

I thinned out the cabbage and Brussel sprouts last week and made a 2nd row of each. I have 15 of each and plan to move most of them out to the garden in about another month.
