Ursula, beautiful pictures. It is amazing what you can find if you look for it.

Gone tropical, very nice Catt.

Lindsey, you are ahead of me on the Phaius blooms. Here is what I can offer today:

How nice, good looking Phaius growing in your garden. And the Phals are indeed Phun, even pretty! Smiling
I would love to see the pretty floof maturing a bit more for the dorsal to broaden/flatten? The lip is spectacular! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

Jim & Lindsy, Beautiful Phaiuses. Mine are almost bloomed out. Perhaps it is because I bring them inside as soon as we get to FL in December so that we can enjoy them. During the year, the pots reside in large terra cotta pots so that the animals won't overturn and destroy them. Last year, unfortunately, we had two hard freezes before we arrived and I had no blooms whatsoever, however, the plants are growing nicely now. Joan Hart bloomed in the summer and we got here just in time to see the last flower fade. So far this year, Raben's Raven hasn't produced a spike yet this year but I think one might be coming up.

Those Phaius are spectacular!
My Rabin's Raven shows no signs of spiking yet. I don't know if it's not mature enough, or if months of 40s at night is too cold for too long. My phaiocalanthe 'Ursula' has 4 spikes though.

The Phaius provide good color in February, can't beat that.

I juat finished baking two pies (apple and blueberry) for the garden club meeting tomorrow. It smells great in here.

Ummmmm, pie! Sounds great.

Carol, My Rabin's Raven is old enough to bloom, however, it might have been hurt by the two freezes it went through the winter of 2010. I thought I had lost everything as when we arrived here all of the leaves were black -- not a good sign. I am getting something that might be a spike but it's too early to tell.

Very nice Carol. I am especially fond of the Coelogyne and the Cym is spectacular.

Warm here and we had a good rain yesterday afternoon. The plants look happy.

The Blc Annie Belle has opened enough that I am submitting it for an official score on the floof scale. What do you think guys? Chia Lin competition?
