Well....sort of, Alice.
I have little packets made of screening material that hang at the top, they are filled with the 'Dynamite' time release pellets ...I think they are 20-20-20. So they get that everyday when I water. Then when I weakly ,semiweekly ...they get Bill's Best and Potion #9...last week they even got epsom salts for the first time this year Rolling on the floor laughing

My poor Vanda must be hungry, it never blooms. Maybe when I move I can arrange a better set up for the 'chids. Right now they are being moved hither and yon and every now and then I remember to water or feed them.

We've had a couple of growers speak at our club meetings and they all use way more fertilizer than i would.. but with Vandas it's lots of water, lots of sun and lots of food.
Now this one , Bct . Empress Worsely ' Roman Holiday ' ,has been on its way out the door for refusing to bloom for about 18 months. I moved it to a little brighter spot, plus pressure washed the polycarbonate roof and now I have 4 buds ( on about 100 pbulbs). So I'm going to keep it a little while longer.

New bloomer this morning, as I was moving all the Catts in under the overhang - too much rain especially after I just sprayed fungicide today . . . the clouds appeared immediately!

This is Den. Maui Sparkle 'Exotic Orchids' (that's what the tag says Shrug! ) This was a beautiful gift plant from Jim last year that I proceeed to try to kill at least two or three times, broke one stem, another got a case of wet rot, Sighing! but it has survived and put up a nice spike with 18 buds.

Miraculously, I haven't yet murdered my gift Phal either, still blooming happily. I'm waiting for the flowers to finish and I'll mount it out in the garden on my big oak branch, next to the Enc. tampensis (that is getting ready to burst into bloom too)

Wow, tough crowd!! Smiling Doesn't bloom for 18 months, so it better shapes up!! That is a lot of pseudobulbs!!!
I find that sometimes a reluctant bloomer might take its sweet time to bloom for the first time for me, but once it finally does, it seems to have found its voice and keeps on blooming regularly.
It looks nice!!

Elaine, Thumbs up on your Phal!

So I am not sure if Bletillas belong into the monthly thread or into what else do we grow? Or - since they are still opening, perhaps the Anticipation thread.....
Oh well, here is Bletilla striata and I will update when all different varieties are open. Smiling

Well, I would say they're definitely monthly blooms, and they sure do look pretty with the buttercups blooming around them.

You've got one white one in there as well, already. Sweet.

This is the mother plant with 3 ridiculously long spikes, the first one is now open.

Hi all,
Just stopped by to say I'm alive and to show you my Cypripedium 'Gisela' hybrid. I moved 2 years ago from my former dairy farm to a nearby town and have had 4 huge 36" raised beds built last fall for my gardens. I moved my treasured plants in and have been waiting to see what made it. Both ladyslippers have survived. My other orchids now live mostly in the basement under lights. I have a crazy orchid lady group on Facebook.
