When I saw it in person I had a similar reaction. Had no idea they could attain such a size and magnificence. They do have fairly perfect weather in Richmond CA for growing so many thing. This one really is a giant!

It is pretty spectacular, I agree.

I think this plant is Dudleya pulverulenta and not D. brittonii, based on the flower color (red, not yellow). We have another picture of the same plant in bloom here



Both were originally labeled brittonii by AA, but the flower color is definitive about the species ID not being brittonii.

So I will be moving this image to the entry for pulverulenta. Any questions, comments or disagreement, just say the word.

Difficult to tell here but i'm fairly sure the flowers are yellow.

I would expect a real color contrast, something like this, unless for some reason all we're seeing on that image is sepals.
