It is pretty spectacular, I agree.

I think this plant is Dudleya pulverulenta and not D. brittonii, based on the flower color (red, not yellow). We have another picture of the same plant in bloom here



Both were originally labeled brittonii by AA, but the flower color is definitive about the species ID not being brittonii.

So I will be moving this image to the entry for pulverulenta. Any questions, comments or disagreement, just say the word.
