er I think you got 300 grape hyacinths, so you're up to a kilobulb!

That's a term my DH came up with after we got married. Not too many years ago, I routinely planted a couple kilobulbs each fall, some in Pittsburgh and Winston-Salem (parents). The trick there was to limit the number of "big" bulbs -- daffodils, tulips, oriental hyacinths -- and fill in with drifts of little bulbs that could be easily tucked in while digging holes for bigger bulbs and for fall-planted perennials. Dig once, plant twice!

Wow, it is cold here! 28 degrees. Yesterday afternoon I was continuing cleaning and digging out the Bermuda grass and bindweeds from my yard. I took out Rugosa roses, I still have my original plant, but I dug out 2 branches with roots. If anyone wants them, I will safe them, otherwise I will toss them out. They have lots of prickles, blooms are pink and fragrant, and they have about 1 inch rose hips. They spread.
