I am compileing a database of the lilies I have. Ineeded the website so I could id the asiatic mix Lisa sent just before she closed. I believe there were more than 10 different ones in the 36 bulbs she sent.

I have over 90 different varieties of lilies spread between Asiatics,OT's and Orientals Not all Lisas by the way.Just 10 from her and I might have mislabled them.

Her website is a help.

No one is more surprised than I am. I figure at 3 bulbs per variety I have over 300 lilies.
I am sure everyone has just bought and planted lilies without giving any attention .I cnt resist co-ops and catalogues .Thats how things got crazy.

yeah, Lisa's bulbs were the best of any I've gotten. Where is she now? Is she still selling at all? Last I heard, she just had seeds?
Wish I were as organized as you, Jo Ann. I would love to have a list of what I have planted, with pics. Best I can do is find old receipts and then play a matching game.

Its imbarrasing I am so compulsive.I also have a lot of time on my hands and nothing to do.
If I wasnt checking and rechecking stuff in files I would go nuts.
It's freezing outside and the cold wind makes my eyes ater ,the cataraktcs dont help either. So, I am imprisoned until balmier weather, like today.I will get out and rake the pincones.

Those are beautiful, Jo Ann! You really grow them well. I especially like the pink one, 4th down in the first group of photos. I have several clumps of Fire Truck and they are some of my favorites. They hold up to our strong winds. In fact, I still have not cut down the brown stalks and I need to get out and do that!

Jo Ann, maybe you don't have the names of everything, but I'll say one thing: You can make any lily look good in your gardens--the way you arrange things and your choice of companion plants is superb!

I really appreciate everyones kind words. There is a wee bit of a plan but not much.Jst tall thin things with short fat stuff. Lilies can go anywhere.
Someone said thet to me once on the other site and I have been free with my cash and choices ever since.

There were only two reasons why I bought my first computer:
1) email
2) to keep track of plants

From my prospective, you shouldn't be embarrassed at all, Jo Ann.
You're darn smart! Big Grin

A tip that I might suggest that I have learned through the years:
When a particular plant dies, don't delete it from your spreadsheet. In the excel program, highlight the cells in question, click on format>>cells>>font>>strikethrough. Now your dead plant will have a line going through the data, but you will still be able to read it.

Alternatively, you could make a copy of the spreadsheet, clear all the contents in the copy, rename it "Dead Plants" (or whatever) and transfer the data of your deceases plants there. You will find it very useful to be able to go back to that old information.

I miss spoke ,my lists are not in Excell.I just use a "word" type program and insert tables so I can alphebetise.
Keeping records saves a lot of time.
In winter I check wishlists against orders sent. Mine arent the biggest gardens on the web but my memory is awful and getting worse so I make notes and lists. I just "need" to in order to know where things are..
