There has been mass flooding all over! Grumbling In Somerset the Army has been called in, as it is underwater and has been for a month. No power and very wet cold for the thousands of people there.
Lots of areas are totally underwater now. I so hope Muriel is OK; but she lives on a hill so might be alright. Muriel Catford is awash under the bridge on the south circukar before the station; just round the corner from St. Dunstans college. Where the Place House Tavern was!
Freezing cold, windy and very miserable. Sowed for a brief while but it cannot settle due to the amount of water. Woolwich barrier permanetly closed for the moment. So mass flooding in Kent!
The price of vegetables is sky high as nobody can get any from the fields.
Hope you are all well.
Going to cook a steak and mushroom (with onions) pie; then a ginger cake.
Love.
Neil.
p.s. Made some homemade bread for my parents and nieces, they loved it.

Where about in Kent? I have friends there. How much water does the barrier keep out of the harbor? I know, no 'u'. Blame Noah Webster.

London and Kent getting battered by 120+ mph winds. Torrential rain and serious flooding everywhere on the Thames valley! Very cold and most dangerous out!
Be careful Muriel this freak storm is over the whole of the UK!

After the last storm I e-mailed iris friends in Maidstone & they said they never had water damage, just wind. Now I have to worry about the wind?

Depends where they live in Maidstone, Lucy. Some areas around here are flooded and the hgigher ones as it is very hilly are untouched! The wind is lethal and there is debris everywhere. More expected for the next week!

Gosh the sun is out, and a nearly dry day! It is cold but at least dry, although it will take a long time for that much water to drain and evaporate away.
Even the first daffodils are rather damp. It would be better growing them in a submarine,, at least that is dry!
Keep warm and safe.
Love.
Neil.

I´m glad that the weather is improving on your side of the pond Neil. Hopefully the daffodils will cheer you up. Mine are all under frozen ground. The weather systems that have plagued you lately have come up here with very strong winds, 90 - 107 mph close to mountains and horizontal sleet and snow.

Spending time scrolling through my photos in the computer and also on the internet, sowing seeds, knitting and sewing. Have to take the dog out twice a day to get some "fresh air" - and come home with sand in my mouth - I love it Blinking Rolling my eyes.

More snow yesterday. Enough! Wild turkeys at a local stable. I would have not seen they if the ground was not white. Unfortunately, they don't migrate.

Turkeys taste like the bottom of an uncleaned Hamster cage. Try a Distillery Goose from Scotland. Fed on the pure malt mash from whisky and the finest water. Now that tastes good.
Miserable now again, but hoping it will get better!
Love to all.

These are the wild turkeys & the season is closed at the moment. I hate it when they visit us in the summer as their dust baths dislodge plants.

Did not feel any shakes in our last earthquake in Rhode Island. Hope that yours didn't knock anything off shelves. Our white cyclamen has been blooming for a month. Good to see that white rather than all the white outside!

Just the first of some spring plants after the battering with the floods and hurricane winds they have taken.
