This was posted on facebook, it's a shade plant for Iris lovers. Green Grin!

Edelweiss Perennials
A charming plant for iris lovers with no sun. This is one of the darkest selections, each petal has a white patch and crest, with an orange mark. Contrary to some literature, this slow spreader is quite drought tolerant, especially in shade.

Just regular garden soil. Siberian Iris don't grow in water. I have them (Siberian Iris) growing all around my garden and many of them are from Joe Pye Weed.

Well, I sure saw some pretty ones. Do you like them better than the bearded Iris? How do they compare to these and Reticulata?

Well, I haven't had time to do a lot of research, but basically in a nutshell what is the differences. Why are siberian iris better? How do they compare to bearded irises and the Reticulata?

Reticulata is a spring bulb. Bearded Iris usually have showey flowers and grow from Rhizomes. Siberian Iris also have lovely flowers, lovely folliage, but look very different than bearded iris.

Well actually it's the foliage that I don't like about the Bearded Iris, the flowers are beautiful but don't last long enough, and the ugly foliage is there all the time and it never seems to fit in, it's just too big.
Do you have a picture of the Siberian foliage? Maybe this will be a better solution for me, but I still like the cute little spring bulbs. Green Grin!

I personally dislike the looks of the bearded iris folliage myself also. But the flowers, at least on the Tall Bearded are so large and fancy that I can put up with the folliage. Siberians have beautiful folliage that looks great all year. Plus they are very easy once established.
