This will be my first try. Think I will take cuttings too.

I started 3 indoors in Mid-March. They seem to like the heat of a building. This one is in a flowerbed on a 5 foot trellis. Very well behaved. Had some blooms earlier and only buds right now. It was tangled in the Jens Munk rose, but I am reworking this bed and pulled it off the rose




This one has totally taken over the 6" trellis, made it's way to both window boxes and has now reached the butterfly, which is about 16 feet up



This one has engulfed my Dragon Fly (12 feet up) and is in the process of blanketing the Black Lace Elder. I've left it thinking we would have heavy frost and put an end to the madness, but it seems to grow by the foot every day. Not whole lot of blooms, but there are a few. Lots of bud on the one in this bed.



Last year, it made a heart shape on it's own

Nah, those things have a mind of their own! I keep trying to get mine growing where I want them, and they keep sprawling off in the opposite direction!

I did get a cutting to root and It's doing well. Wish it was a white one! I started the white in a wet paper towel, they sprouted! They are in soil now, we shall see.

Oh, rats! I forgot to take cuttings OR order fresh seeds! Eeeek! Gotta fix that!

White ones are growing well. The blue cuttings are growing great too.

Sigh, and I still haven't gotten seeds. Anyone know a decent source?

I think mine came from T&M.

I just buy them off the seed racks in the stores.

You must have classier seed racks there than we have here!

I got cup and saucer seeds, White Chimney, but they are campanula? Not the same, is it? Some are listed as cup and saucer, some as bell flower. confusing to me.

Yes, the Cobaea scandens are generally called Cathedral Bells and the campanula are usually called Cup and Saucer, but not always. Sigh. Which is why I really like knowing the botanical names.....although those seem to be subject to change without notice, too!

I go by the botanical names, when I know them!

there's alot out there and this is a new flower to me. Well, I have a couple different campanulas, but not Cobaea scandens -- wow, my head is spinning. so many names to remember...

And the Cobaea is, of course, a vine, which the Campanula is not. Finally got at least some white seeds ordered today off eBay. Still got to track down the purple ones. Swallowtail has 25 seeds for $1.99, which is a really good price, but since I don't need anything else from them, I'd have to pay an additional $3.95 shipping. Ouch. Still looking. Grump!
