Well, I have one that is not a poly, but it is ODD.

I am not sure what the heck is going on with it, but it did this same thing 2 years ago. It skipped blooming last year.

I can't even accurately describe it, but you'll see the photos and see why it is so odd. I am not sure what is causing this flower to change so much from first set of blooms to the re-bloom flower. Maybe one of our experts can tell me? Maurice @admmad ? Sue @sooby ?

This year's blooms on CCC16 (Angels and Ecstasy x unknown) I got the seeds from the LA. - All 5 bloom photos were taken in the morning :
April 19, 2018 - May 6, 2018, :
Thumb of 2018-07-23/beckygardener/5090cd Thumb of 2018-07-23/beckygardener/abfe32

Then it bloomed 1 re-bloom on July 18, 2018 of a single flower:
Thumb of 2018-07-23/beckygardener/02bbb7

Two years ago, it did something very similar:
First bloom ever - May 13, 2016:
Thumb of 2018-07-23/beckygardener/cce6eb

Later re-bloom - June 5, 2016:
Thumb of 2018-07-23/beckygardener/b0fbcb

It is not bleached out by later afternoon sun shots.

I was just thinking when I read the question what a hard decision it would be. Off the top of my head I'd say Ricochet Ruffles. I "discovered" it in Dan Hansen's selected seedling bed one day. He and Chris Rogers (who was Dan's squeeze and co-hybridizer at the time) didn't realize it was a poly. It was the first "new" one I'd ever seen and I do love pink. It's also a tet. it won't set pods, I haven't found a tet poly that will, but it has good pollen.

Becky,
Could it be heat related? Hotter during rebloom season? I know some of mine fade out in the heat. Did you happen to treat the plant with any chemicals or fertilizers around relboom time? I remember being at Floyd Cove one time and Guy Pierce asked me not to take any pics that day because his blooms were all pale from the chemicals he'd hit them with the day before.

I expect it is because the environmental conditions like temperature, which affect the anthocyanin pigments, were different between the two sets of bloom. Daylength would also be different, maybe light intensity....Coincidentally someone was telling me the other day that they experienced the same thing this year. Maurice should be able to give a more informed answer than I can.

I realized after looking more closely that today's bloom of Phial of Galadriel is fused bloom. Though it was two blooms, til I looked at the base of the flower... Gotta upload it from the tablet...

Lavender Stardust had its last sport bloom yesterday and the daylily formerly known as Desert Icicle (and re-identified as Give Me Eight) had two more polys yesterday and there's one more to go.

**Edited to correct the daylily name.. They've all been Give Me Eight and I had it mis-tagged**

Mike I've been wondering if I had mis-tagged Desert Icicle and it's really Give Me Eight- I have both. But the planting tag was still on DI this spring and I know I planted Give Me Eight in a different location... Still, the constant poly blooms and color keep me guessing.
