Schreiner's is starting to post their new introductions on their website. There is a statement at the top that they will have 15 new introductions, but so far there are only eight posted. Of course I'm already committed to getting ALSEA FALLS, but FIDDLIN' AROUND looks really good to me too -- love those colors. And DANCING SPREE has no price on it, so maybe it's one of their bonus plants this year.

Well, there are now 16 irises pictured in their 2012 Introductions. I noticed that four of them do not have prices, so maybe they are going to be the bonus plants.

I'm disappointed that the parentage is not listed on the new 2012 introductions. I think I'll send Schreiner's an email and ask for the parentage of the two I'm interested in. I keep looking at FIDDLIN' AROUND because I love EVENING TIDINGS so much and I'm wondering if it could be similar, but $60 is a lot to pay if I don't know the parentage. I really like the white reverse sides of the falls on that one for some reason...

Anyway, at least they've posted the seedling numbers and I've been checking them with my pictures I took at Schreiner's in 2009 and 2010. There is only one of the new intro's that I have two pictures of, SILKEN TRIM. It's one of those with no price, so maybe it will be a bonus plant. I think it's actually quite pretty.

SILKEN TRIM

There are four with no prices: SILKEN TRIM, LIKE WOW, DANCING SPREE and SUNRISE ELEGY. I'm thinking they will be the Bonus Irises if they have that program this year.

Are you doing the convention tours in Ontario? If gas wasn't so pricey right now, I would love to come down and at least tour some of the nurseries but I have a few up here that I plan to see this year like Napa iris.

No, I'm afraid I won't be going to the convention next month. I sorta blew my budget this year on irises -- but mostly on daylilies! I really have my plate full now that I'm trying to take care of both the irises and daylilies, and as usual I'm WAY BEHIND already! But I'm hopeful that whoever goes will take lots and lots of pictures! Napa Country should be a great trip for you, as they're really coming up with some fantastic things these days. That's another iris garden I really wish I could visit -- but I know that you will take tons of fantastic photos there, and I hope you can get pictures of all their introductions and seedlings with seedling numbers! OK? Please please?

Some of Schreiners backgroun is very complicated & many of their customers are not sophistocated for parentage. since it is early in the season they might be about to answer specific questions.

I wish I could order from Schreiners but of course I have no room left. All my iris beds are full.

I wasn't crazy about Silken Trim when I first saw it, but your clump shot is wonderful.

Betty is my utmost enabler. Well, along with my husband who always says, 'then get it'.

I just received my Schrieners catalog - beautifully done as always. It was getting a Schrieners catalog in the mail several years ago that really got me into TB Iris.

I am already thinking.... I have 3 or 4 that didn't survive winter, so I have some open spaces Big Grin

By the way, their bonuses this year are Dancing Spree, Like New, Sunrise Elegy and Silken Trim ~Jan

My catalog came in the mail today. Not that I haven't already been on their website looking at the new 2012 intros. But they have SUCH a beautiful Catalog. The colors on the iris just jump out at you all thru the pages. It makes me really, really want to order and I have no room left.

I got mine yesterday, but my sis is visiting so I haven't even had a chance to look at it yet -- but tomorrow... I plan to order at least their new ALSEA FALLS this year -- it's the one I've been waiting for!
