Lily (Lilium African Queen)
This was taken from an old photo in July 2, 2011. It's a photo of a garden behind my garage where several plants are grouped in a mixed setting. There are irises, daylilies and even a couple of garlic plants as well as lilies in the original photo.

This is the photo (2011) from which I made the banner.


These photos are from late today with the sunlight at a disadvantage.
I don't usually take pictures behind the garage showing all my paraphernalia. There are wheel barrows, drums of potting soil
and all sorts of things that should not be there. But, after all it is behind the garage & house and you are welcome to see my
assorted stuff. Photos are from late this afternoon temps 90*F (heat index ++++). I'm sure the heat has affected the color.

It is a coincidence that the banner is running at the same time the plants are in actual bloom!

Beautiful banner, Leon. Very aptly named! The richness of their color is striking.

At first glance, my imagination giggled as I thought of them as a group of chattering lily ladies. I guess it's the trumpet effect. Loved the whole composition and the coloring is terrific for a sunny day. Usually the bright sun would white out the color. Lately I've been taking photos at dusk on a tripod, and have had some good results. But you 've gotten excellent results with your method.

Thanks everyone. This week has been especially warm (hot) with intense sunlight during most of the day. It has been especially difficult on many blooms exposed to all day sun. Fortunately I have large oaks scattered about which give off much need shade/semi-shade at different times of the day. Strong sun & heat can cause color wash on several plants' blooms including daylilies. To make matters worse the humidity levels are off the chart yesterday & so far today.
