Thanks for all the answers. Dillard, I've never even heard of those varieties!

My Fuyu persimmon tree has lots of yellow fruit, not quite ripen but not green either, I just removed the plastic bags that covered the fruit, and there's a bird that scooped down to this tree. I'm covering it with some net. I hope to get 1-2 edible fruit, last year they were not edible.

Oh! A neighbor around the corner has a young Fuyu that is loaded with green ones. Wish I knew them! I'll have to start watching Costco and the local grocery stores. I look forward to fall and Fuyu Persimmons every year. Thanks for the reminder!

Persimmon cookies are so good. Years ago a dear lady made them every year and mailed me a box.

I've had the big soft persimmons before, there were a few trees grown near my moms house, but they were delicious. Could be messy if people don't pick them often. Maybe I can leave some of my persimmons to be super ripen and go soft.
My neighbor just told me she has a bigger tree and there's a big squirrel was constantly eating the fruit so he had them sprayed. I didn't know you could do that. I mean I didn't know it was effective.

My strawberries bed is torn up by chickens. I am wondering if I should leave it alone, and then rescue the new plants into pots next spring. Or move them somewhere now. The chickens have the run of most of the yard. Or figure out how to keep them off the strawberries where they are. Glare
Plant it and they will come.

I'm thinking of toring mine up too, the strawberry plants were given free but it cost more money to plant them. Oh well. Next time I will get bigger strawberry type.

I don't think you can keep the chickens away without fencing off the strawberries somehow. It is not like the strawberries have really deep roots. So should be easy to scratch up.

Next year I'm buying a six pack or two of strawberries. Haven't grown them in a couple of years. They're so expensive in the stores and they're never sweet. Never.

Not just the cost, they are not tasty.

Yep. Maybe instead of buying a six-pack I'll go through my seed catalogs and choose the sweetest ones described. It would have to be plants though, not seeds.

Strawberry plants quite inexpensive. Easy to grow.

So did anyone can, dry or freeze any fruit?

We froze peaches, blueberries and strawberries we got at the farmers market. A peach/blueberry/strawberry cobbler when the snow covers the garden, the winds are howling, and freezing outside would be a perfect time for a warm fruit cobbler. Yes it would.

Oh, I could add this to that other thread, what did I eat from my garden. We made blueberry pancakes, from our own frozen blueberries. You can't beat just picking and throwing them in a container, so easy.
Plant it and they will come.

Just ordered 3 fruit trees, two figs and one pixie cherry plum. This is it for my ordering this year.

I've decided on two six packs of Quinalt strawberries.
