My arum has leaves that look just like yours, but has a dark, dark burgundy spathe (? Term?) that STINKS like road kill. You can smell it a hundred feet away. It only blooms a few days a year though. I think I like yours better.

I was out this morning gathering up more plants to sale and walked right up on top of 4 baby Armadillas. I swear I wasn't 5 foot from them. They were very busy hunting for grubs and my good old dog Conrad didn't even see them. I had to show him and then he's like"Well what do yo want me to do?" Nothing good dog, I'll take care of this. So we are standing there watching the little ones, about half grown, when one of them just walks right up to us, within inches!!!! Conrad looks, I look, the baby looks at us, then turns and starts digging for grubs right at my foot.

So, we've had these every year for a long time. But, I've never had 1500 newly repotted daylilies setting around with grub worms underneath each one of them. I sure hope they don't accidently knock over one pot and find them. I can just see all my pots upended!!! Any quick advise????

I had a friend in Texas that had huge garden beds. She had an awful time with armadillos. I don't recall thy she ever found a good solution. Thumbs down

I can't imagine having armadillos in the garden. Saw one on the highway once.
Maybe you can transfer them away from your potted plants somehow. Beats me,
I don't know how you would do that.

The armadillos are being good. So far!! I don't mind sharing my tiny place on this Earth with the rest of God's creatures, as long as they leave my plants alone.

I went to town today and I was a BAD girl. I bought some chemicals that set me back $40. Then I just had to go to my favorite local nursery. I got a Sister Theresa Hydrangea and 10 peppers and tomatos that they grow the veggies.

Walmart had pretty Hosts and a Sarah Bernhart Peony that had 4 huge buds.

Home Depot I got a new sprayer and 6-6pks red & purple coleous and 4 of red begonias.

so, I spent $120 and didn't even buy a daylily!

Ok, I may cry but I sure did have fun. It was a good day.

The only thing that I have bought locally this year are several
evergreen shrubs. Now, daylilies orders, not locally, are a different matter
all together.

We planted some tomatos yesterday that we had bought at a local nursery. Still have a few more to plant and then some peppers to plant.

Wow Mona, you got lots blooming now. I really like the first seedling the best.

I just love Santas Little Helper, it is such a dark smooth red. Mine isn't blooming yet. It also sets pods.

I just got Santa's Little Helper in Sept last year from Maryotts. It was still trying to bloom on Nov 18 when temps were down in the low 30s. I can forsee it being one that I will always have. It's the prettiest color red. So deep and rich and velvety. It had it's first bloom in mid March but I didn't take photos because it wasn't very pretty then. It's since put on these new scapes and they are wonderful. I'm glad it sets pods. I crossed it today with Zahadoom. I'd love to have the red with the huge purple eye. I'm kinda getting into the smaller ones and if it was small and had the eye, it would be something wonderful to me!!

Is it the first one on todays photos that you like?? If so, I like it a bunch too. It makes me think of a Yorkshire Terrior puppy ears. The color is a little more Lavender than the photo shows, so it's really pretty. Very smooth.
