When you go make a cross, you have ths pollen parent and I guess the other aould be the pod parent. When you go list the irises used, which goes first Nd 2shixh goes second? Thanks for any input and help you can give me.

For any cross of two plants, it is always written as:

Pod (or Seed) Parent X Pollen Parent

If it is more complicated (i.e. using an unnamed seedling in a cross), you introduce parentheses (note the lower case "x" inside the parentheses). For example:

(1st Generation Pod Parent x 1st Generation Pollen Parent) X 2nd Generation Pollen Parent

As an aside, ideally all the hybrid "x" or "X" would be written using the multiplication symbol, but because that's not straightforward to reproduce on a normal keyboard (and may be an issue on various websites), the workaround using the upper and lowercase "x" was devised.
